Ergonomic Mounting Height Recommendation
To ensure an ergonomic workstation, Ergotron recommends specific mounting heights. These guidelines are based on user heights: 5'5" (162 cm) for standing and 5'4" (165 cm) for sitting. For users outside these ranges, adjust the mounting height by one inch for every one-inch difference in user height. This recommendation assumes a 6-inch (152 mm) distance between the monitor's VESA mounting hole centers and the top of the screen. Adjust the mounting height accordingly if this distance differs.
Installation Guide
Step 1: Determine Mounting Configuration
Fastener Note: Vibrations from product movement can cause fasteners to loosen over time. Regularly inspect all fasteners for tightness. For added security, apply a light-duty thread-locking adhesive to fasteners before installation to prevent them from backing out.
Step 2: Mount Pivot
Attach the monitor pivot bracket (Part A) to the mounting plate. Use the appropriate screws (either #8-32 x 5/16" or #8-32 x 3/8" from Part C) and the included hex wrench (Part D) to secure it.
Step 3: Attach Monitor
For 75mm VESA Mounts: Use the four M4 x 10mm screws to attach the monitor to the pivot bracket.
For 100mm VESA Mounts:
- First, attach the monitor to the pivot bracket using the four #8-32 screws.
- Then, secure the monitor using the four M4 x 10mm screws.
(Diagrams show the process of attaching the monitor to the pivot bracket using the specified screws for both 75mm and 100mm VESA patterns.)
Adjustments
After installation, you may need to adjust the monitor's movement for optimal performance. The product should move smoothly and stay in place. If movements are too easy or too difficult, follow these adjustment procedures:
Tilt Adjustment (Forward and Backward)
To Increase Friction: If the monitor moves too easily, turn the adjustment screw clockwise. Multiple turns may be needed to notice a difference.
To Decrease Friction: If the monitor is too difficult to move, turn the adjustment screw counter-clockwise.
Pan Adjustment (Side-to-Side)
To Increase Friction: Turn the adjustment screw clockwise.
To Decrease Friction: Turn the adjustment screw counter-clockwise.
Rotation Adjustment (Portrait/Landscape)
The monitor can be rotated to switch between portrait and landscape orientations.
Safety and Handling
Important Warning: Mounting surface materials vary greatly. It is crucial to ensure that the mounting surface is strong enough to safely support the weight of the mounted product and equipment. Failure to do so can result in serious injury or property damage.
Cable Management Caution: Ensure there is enough slack in the cables to allow for the full range of motion. Follow the cable routing instructions in this manual to prevent cables from being pinched. Improper cable management can lead to equipment damage or personal injury.
Weight Capacity
The Ergotron 100 Series Monitor Pivots have the following weight capacities:
- 5-25 lbs (2 - 11.4 kgs)
- 5-23 lbs (2 - 10.5 kgs)
