Your guide to operating the iTOMA CKS507 U Clock Radio.

Preparation for Use

Unpacking and Set Up

Follow these steps to prepare your iTOMA CKS507 U for use:

  • Carefully remove the clock radio from its carton and remove all packing materials. Retain the original carton and packing material for future servicing or transportation needs.
  • Remove any descriptive labels or stickers from the front or top of the cabinet. Do not remove labels or stickers from the back or bottom.
  • Note the serial number located on the bottom of your radio and record it in the provided space in the warranty section of this manual.
  • Place the clock radio on a level surface, such as a table or desk, near an AC outlet. Ensure it is out of direct sunlight and away from sources of excessive heat, dirt, dust, moisture, humidity, or vibration.
  • Unwind the Line cord connecting the AC adapter and extend it to its full length.

Important Notes

To ensure optimal performance and safety, please observe the following:

  • Avoid installing the unit in areas exposed to direct sunlight or near heat-radiating appliances (e.g., electric heaters, other stereo equipment).
  • Avoid places lacking ventilation, dusty areas, areas subject to constant vibration, or humid/moist environments.
  • Operate controls and switches only as described in this manual.
  • Before turning on the power, ensure the USB cable is connected (if applicable).

Location of Contents and Indicators

Familiarize yourself with the controls and indicators on your clock radio:

Front Panel

The front panel features the main display and several control buttons:

  • 12:38: Main digital display showing time, alarm status, etc.
  • ALARM 1 / STORE: Button for setting/activating Alarm 1 or storing radio presets.
  • ALARM 2 / MEMORY: Button for setting/activating Alarm 2 or recalling radio presets.
  • TIME SET / BT PAIR: Button for setting the time or initiating Bluetooth pairing.
  • SLEEP: Button to activate the sleep timer function.
  • II SNOOZE / DIMMER: Button for snoozing alarms or adjusting display brightness.
  • SOURCE: Button to switch between modes (e.g., Radio, Bluetooth).
  • VOLUME+ ▲: Button to increase volume.
  • VOLUME- ▼: Button to decrease volume.
  • SET / TURN: Buttons used for adjusting settings (e.g., hours, minutes, volume).
  • NIGHT LIGHT: Button to control the built-in nighttime LED.

Top Panel

The top panel contains additional controls:

  • 12:38: Display area.
  • NIGHT LIGHT: Control for the nighttime LED.
  • SNOOZE/DIMMER: Snooze and dimmer control.

Back Panel

The back panel houses essential connections and switches:

  • 18. USB CABLE: For power connection.
  • 19. FM ANTENNA: For receiving FM radio signals.
  • 20. AL1 Switch: Switch to turn Alarm 1 on/off.
  • 21. AL2 Switch: Switch to turn Alarm 2 on/off.

Setting the Time

Follow these steps to set the current time on your clock radio:

  1. Press and hold the TIME SET button (9) until the "HOUR" and "MINUTE" digits blink on the display.
  2. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to adjust the minutes.
  3. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to adjust the hour.
  4. Press the TIME SET button (9) again. The "MONTH/DAY" digits will blink.
  5. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to adjust the day.
  6. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to adjust the month.
  7. Press the TIME SET button (9) again. The "YEAR" digits will blink.
  8. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to adjust the year.
  9. Press the TIME SET button (9) again. The "H12" (12-hour format) or "H24" (24-hour format) indicator will blink.
  10. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to choose between H12 (with AM/PM indicator) or H24 format.
  11. Press the TIME SET button (9) again, or wait for 40 seconds, to return to the normal clock display.

To check the current time and date: Short press the TIME SET button (9) repeatedly. The "MONTH/DAY/YEAR" digits will appear on the display.

Note: If using the H12 format, the PM indicator will show when it is afternoon.

Setting the Alarm

Your clock radio features two independent alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2). Ensure the respective AL1/AL2 switches (20, 21) on the back panel are in the "ON" position to activate the alarm.

Setting the Wakeup Alarms

  1. Turn on the clock radio.
  2. Press the AL1/STORE button (7) or AL2/MEMORY button (8) repeatedly to select your desired alarm ringtone:
    • Display shows "1": Alarm 1 (Wake to Buzzer) is ON.
    • Display shows "17": Alarm 1 (Wake to Radio) is ON.
    • If both "1" and "17" disappear, Alarm 1 is OFF.
  3. After selecting the ringtone, press and hold the AL1/STORE (7) or AL2/MEMORY (8) button for 2 seconds. The "HOUR and MINUTE" digits will blink.
  4. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to adjust the minute.
  5. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to adjust the hour.
  6. Press the AL1/STORE (7) or AL2/MEMORY (8) button again. The "CURRENT VOLUME LEVEL" digits will blink (levels 1 to 16).
  7. Press the VOLUME+ ▲ (14) or VOLUME- ▼ (15) buttons to adjust to your desired alarm volume level.
  8. Press the AL1/STORE (7) or AL2/MEMORY (8) button again, or wait for 40 seconds, to finish setting the alarm.

When the alarm goes off: Push the corresponding AL1/AL2 switch (20, 21) on the back of the unit to the "OFF" position to turn off the alarm.

Note: When the alarm sounds, it starts at minimum volume and gradually increases to your preset alarm volume.

Snooze/Repeat/Stop the Alarm

When the alarm sounds, you can temporarily silence it:

  • Press the II SNOOZE / DIMMER button (11) ? to snooze. The alarm will stop for 9 minutes and then sound again.
  • You can repeatedly press the II SNOOZE / DIMMER button (11) for further dozings within a 60-minute snooze cycle.
  • To permanently turn off the alarm for the current cycle, push the corresponding AL1/AL2 switch (20, 21) on the back panel to the "OFF" position.

Playing the Radio

Enjoy listening to FM radio with your clock radio. For best reception, fully extend and adjust the position of the FM ANTENNA (19) ?.

  1. Press the SOURCE button (13) to turn on the clock radio and switch to radio mode. The "MHz" indicator will appear on the display.
  2. Press the SOURCE button (13) again to switch to radio mode if not already selected.
  3. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to manually adjust the radio frequency.
  4. To auto-search for stations, press and hold the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17). The search will stop at the next available station.
  5. While listening, use the VOLUME+ ▲ (14) or VOLUME- ▼ (15) buttons to adjust the volume.
  6. When you turn off the radio by pressing the SOURCE button (13), the last station you listened to will be saved as your wake-to-radio station for Alarm 1 or Alarm 2 if set to radio.

Storing Radio Station Presets (Max. 20 presets)

You can store up to 20 favorite radio stations for quick access.

  1. Turn on the clock radio and switch to radio mode using the SOURCE button (13).
  2. Tune to your desired station using the tuning buttons (16, 17) or by recalling a preset.
  3. Press the AL1/STORE button (7) until the "PROGRAM NUMBER" (e.g., P01 to P20) blinks on the display.
  4. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) to select your desired Program Number (e.g., P01 for the first preset).
  5. Press the AL1/STORE button (7) again to store the current station under the selected Program Number.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 to store additional stations.

Recalling Preset Radio Stations

Access your stored radio stations easily.

  1. Turn on the clock radio and switch to radio mode using the SOURCE button (13).
  2. Press the AL2/MEMORY button (8) once. The current Program Number will appear on the display.
  3. Press the SET / TURN buttons (16, 17) repeatedly to cycle through your preset stations (P01, P02, etc.).
  4. The radio will tune to the selected preset station.

Using the Sleep Timer

Fall asleep to the radio with the built-in sleep timer, which operates in 10-minute increments (from 10 to 90 minutes).

  1. Press the SOURCE button (13) to turn on the clock radio.
  2. Press the SLEEP button (10). The display will show "10", indicating the sleep timer is set for 10 minutes.
  3. To change the duration, keep pressing the SLEEP button (10) until your desired duration (e.g., 20, 30, ..., 90) appears.
  4. To deactivate the sleep timer, keep pressing the SLEEP button (10) until "OFF" appears, or press the SOURCE button (13) to turn off the radio directly. The radio will automatically turn off after the set duration.

Bluetooth Connection

Connect your Bluetooth-enabled devices to stream audio wirelessly.

  1. Press the SOURCE button (13) to turn on the clock radio.
  2. Press the SOURCE button (13) repeatedly until the "BT" indicator blinks, signifying Bluetooth pairing mode.
  3. On your external audio device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), turn on Bluetooth and search for available devices. Select "CKS507" from the list to connect.
  4. Once connected, the "BT" indicator will stop blinking. You can now play music from your device through the clock radio's speakers.
  5. Control playback using your audio device or the clock radio's buttons:
    • II SNOOZE / DIMMER (11) ?: Play/Pause.
    • VOLUME+ ▲ (14) / VOLUME- ▼ (15): Adjust volume.
    • SET / TURN buttons (16, 17): Play previous or next track.

Troubleshooting Bluetooth Pairing: If pairing is unsuccessful, disconnect any previously paired Bluetooth devices by pressing and holding the TIME SET / BT PAIR button (9) until prompted, or turn off Bluetooth on nearby devices. Then, set the clock radio to Bluetooth mode, turn your phone/device's Bluetooth off and on again to refresh the search for "CKS507".

5-Levels of Dimmer Control

Adjust the brightness of the main display for optimal viewing comfort.

  • Press the II SNOOZE / DIMMER button (11) ? repeatedly to cycle through the brightness levels:
    • L-3: Brightest
    • L-2: Medium
    • L-1: Low/Dim
    • OFF: Display Off
    • AU: Automatic brightness adjustment (if supported).

The display brightness can be adjusted while the radio is playing or in standby mode.

Nighttime LED

The clock radio features a built-in nighttime LED at the bottom.

  • Press the NIGHT LIGHT button (12) ? to adjust the brightness of the nighttime LED.
  • The nighttime LED has three brightness settings: OFF, HIGH, and LOW.

Care and Maintenance

Proper care will ensure the longevity of your clock radio.

Care of Cabinets

  • If the cabinet becomes dusty, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For smudges or dirt, use a soft cloth slightly dampened with water. Never allow water or any liquid to enter the cabinet.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads, as these can damage the cabinet's finish.

Specific Safety Instructions

  1. Read and keep all instructions.
  2. Do not use this apparatus near water.
  3. Clean only with a dry cloth.
  4. Do not block ventilation openings. Install according to manufacturer's instructions.
  5. Do not install near heat sources (radiators, stoves, etc.).
