Preparation for Use
Unpacking and Set Up
- Remove the alarm clock radio from the carton and packaging materials. Retain the carton and packaging for future reference and in case the alarm clock radio ever needs to be serviced or transported.
- Remove any descriptive labels or stickers on the front or top of the cabinet. Do not remove any labels or stickers from the back or bottom of the cabinet. Note the serial number on the bottom of your radio and write this number in the space provided on the Warranty page of this manual.
- Place your radio on a level surface such as a table, desk or shelf, convenient to an AC outlet, out of direct sunlight, and away from sources of excess heat, dirt, dust, moisture, humidity or vibration.
- Select and attach the appropriate plug attachment to the AC mains adapter. Unwind and fully extend the power cable. The FM antenna is built into this cord. It must be fully extended to provide the best FM reception.
- Unwind the line cord connecting the AC adapter and extend it to its full length.
Important Notes
- Avoid installing this alarm clock radio in direct sunlight, close to sources of heat, where there is poor ventilation and places that are dusty, humid, wet or subject to vibration.
- Operate controls and switches as described in the manual.
- Before turning on the power, make certain that the AC adapter is properly installed.

Setting the Date/Time Manually
To check the current date and time, short press the [TIME SET Button] repeatedly to cycle through time, month, day, and year.
To set the time:
- Press and hold the [TIME SET Button]. The HOUR digits will blink. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to adjust the hour.
- Press [TIME SET Button] again. The MINUTE digits will blink. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to adjust the minute.
- Press [TIME SET Button] again. The MONTH digits will blink. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to adjust the month.
- Press [TIME SET Button] again. The DATE digits will blink. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to adjust the date.
- Press [TIME SET Button] again. The YEAR digits will blink. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to adjust the year.
- Press [TIME SET Button] again. The "24H" or "12H" indicator will blink. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to select the time format (24-hour or 12-hour clock).
- Press [TIME SET Button] again or wait for 40 seconds to save your settings.

The [Warning Symbol: Lightning Flash] within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated 'dangerous voltage' within the product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.
The [Warning Symbol: Exclamation Mark] within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance (servicing) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Read these instructions. Keep these instructions. Follow all instructions. Heed all warnings.
- Do not block any ventilation openings.
- Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heaters, stoves, or other apparatus (including audio amplifiers) that produce heat.
- If the provided AC mains adapter does not fit your outlet or is damaged, seek the advice of a qualified electrician before using a replacement mains adapter.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on, knotted, snagged or pinched.
- Only use attachments / accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
- Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally or has been dropped.
Snooze/Repeat
When the alarm goes off, press the [SNOOZE/DIMMER/HI Button] to doze for another 9 minutes. You can repeatedly press [SNOOZE] for more dozings during the 60-minute cycle.
Press the [AL1/VOL- Button] or [AL2/VOL+ Button] to stop the alarm from sounding.
To deactivate the alarm completely, push the corresponding [AL1 ON/OFF Slide Switch] or [AL2 ON/OFF Slide Switch] to OFF.
Note: If no operation is performed while the alarm is sounding, the alarm will stop after 60 minutes.
Playing the FM Radio
Press the [MODE/BT PAIR Button] to turn on the clock radio and then press the [MODE/BT PAIR Button] again to switch to radio mode. The frequency indicator [MHz Indicator] will appear on the display.
For better reception, fully extend and adjust the position of the [FM antenna].
Tuning FM Stations:
- In the radio mode, when the MHz digits appear on the display, press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to adjust the MHz frequency.
- Auto-search/scan FM stations: Press and hold the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button for 2 seconds and release. The search/scan will stop at the next available lower or higher station.
Store FM/DAB radio station presets (max. up to 20 stations):
- In the FM radio mode, press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to search your desired station.
- Press and hold the [STORE/MEM. Button] until the Program Number (from 01 to 20) appears on the display.
- Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to change to the Program Number you desire.
- Press the [STORE/MEM. Button] again, and your specific station will be stored under the selected Program Number.
Recall preset FM/DAB radio stations:
- When the radio mode is on, short press the [STORE/MEM. Button] and the Program Number (from 01 to 20) will appear on the display.
- Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to select your stored Program Number and listen to your preset station.
Note: Keep the clock radio away from other electronic devices to avoid radio interference. For better reception, fully extend and adjust the position of the FM antenna wire.
Dimmer Control
To adjust the display brightness, keep pressing the [SNOOZE/DIMMER/HI Button] until your desired brightness level appears. Brightness is available in 4 levels and can not be adjusted even when the radio or Bluetooth connection is in use.
Pressing the [SNOOZE/DIMMER/HI Button] allows you to adjust the brightness level as follows:
- [Dimmer Level: High]
- [Dimmer Level: Medium]
- [Dimmer Level: Low Dark]
- [Dimmer Level: OFF]
Bluetooth Connection
- Press the [MODE/BT PAIR Button] to turn on the clock radio.
- Press the [MODE/BT PAIR Button] again to switch to Bluetooth (BT) connection. When the [BT Indicator] blinks, the clock is searching for Bluetooth connection.
- Please turn on the Bluetooth of your external audio device and look for "CKS515U" for connecting. Once connected, the [BT Indicator] stops blinking. Then you can play music from your external audio device through the clock speaker.
- You can control the music playing either on your external audio device or by pressing the [SNOOZE/DIMMER/HI Button] on your clock to play or pause music.
- Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to play music forwards/backwards.
- Press the [AL1/VOL- Button] or [AL2/VOL+ Button] to change the volume.
Note: If pairing is unsuccessful, all previously paired Bluetooth devices around should be disconnected first by pressing and holding the [MODE/BT PAIR Button] until it prompts, or turn off their Bluetooth connection, in order to avoid making any auto reconnection between them. Then, set this unit to Bluetooth mode, and tap the Bluetooth switch on your phone/device Off and back "ON" again to refresh/search any nearby "CKS515U" for pairing.
Using the Sleep Timer
You can fall asleep to the FM radio using the sleep timer. The sleep timer duration ranges from 10 minutes to 90 minutes. After reaching the desired duration, the radio will turn off automatically.
- Press the [MODE/BT PAIR Button] to turn on the clock radio.
- Press the [SLEEP Button]. The display will show "10" minutes, indicating the sleep timer has been set for 10 minutes.
- To change the sleep timer duration, keep pressing the [SLEEP Button] until your desired duration (e.g., [Sleep Timer: 20 min], [Sleep Timer: 30 min] ... [Sleep Timer: 90 min]) appears on the display.
- To deactivate the Sleep timer, keep pressing the [SLEEP Button] until "OFF" appears on the display, or press the [MODE/BT PAIR Button] to turn off the sleep timer directly.
Note: When setting the Sleep Timer, the indicator [SLP Indicator] flashes and it appears on the screen until the sleeping time ends.
Setting the Alarm
Push the [AL1 ON/OFF Slide Switch] or [AL2 ON/OFF Slide Switch] to ON to turn on the alarm before setting it.
Your clock radio has two separate alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2) that can be set and used independently. Please ensure that you have set the wakeup time(s) and the day(s) of the week needed for the alarms correctly.
Alarm Types:
- [Wake to Buzzer] (BB)
- [Wake to Radio]
Setting Alarms for the Day(s) of the Week:
- [EVERYDAY] (Monday to Sunday)
- [WEEKDAYS] (Monday to Friday)
- [WEEKENDS] (Saturday and Sunday)
SETTING THE WAKEUP ALARMS:
- Push the [AL1 ON/OFF Slide Switch] to ON to turn on Alarm 1. Push the [AL2 ON/OFF Slide Switch] to ON to turn on Alarm 2.
- Press the [AL1/VOL- Button] or [AL2/VOL+ Button] repeatedly to select your alarm ringtone:
- When the [AL1 'Radio'] indicator lights up, Alarm 1 (wake to Radio) is selected.
- When the [AL1 'Buzzer'] indicator lights up, Alarm 1 (wake to Buzzer) is selected.
- Press and hold the [AL1/VOL- Button] for 3 seconds. The HOUR digits will blink. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to adjust the hour.
- Press the [AL1/VOL- Button] again. The MINUTE digits will blink. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to adjust the minute.
- Press the [AL1/VOL- Button] again. The "CURRENT VOLUME LEVEL" digits will blink. The volume levels range from VOL 1 to 16, with level 16 being the loudest. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to adjust to your desired alarm volume level.
- Press the [AL1/VOL- Button] again. The "DAY(S) OF THE WEEK" texts (1-7) will blink. Press the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to select the alarm day mode. You can set the alarm days in the following 3 options:
- Option 1: [EVERYDAY] (Monday to Sunday)
- Option 2: [WEEKDAYS] (Monday to Friday)
- Option 3: [WEEKENDS] (Saturday and Sunday)
- Press the [AL1/VOL- Button] or wait for 40 seconds to exit the alarm setting.
- If you need to turn off the AL1 completely, push the [AL1 ON/OFF Slide Switch] to OFF.
- To set Alarm 2, repeat the above steps 1 to 9.
Note 2: The last radio station you listened to will play when you choose "Wake to radio" for your alarm ringtone.

Care and Maintenance
Care of Cabinets
If the cabinet becomes dusty, wipe it with a soft cloth. If the cabinet becomes smudged or dirty, clean it with a soft, slightly dampened cloth. Never allow water or any liquid to get inside the cabinet. Never use any abrasive cleaners or cleaning pads as these will damage the finish of your radio.
