Step 1: Hardware Installation
The device features a POWER port, a WAN port, and one or more LAN ports. An optional USB 3 port is also available. The installation process involves connecting a modem to the WAN port using an Ethernet cable, optionally connecting a computer to a LAN port with another Ethernet cable, optionally connecting a USB memory stick to the USB 3 port, and finally connecting the power adapter to the POWER port.
LED Indicators
- POWER: Green On - Power is on.
- INTERNET: Green On - Internet connection is ready. Off - Internet connection is not ready.
Installation Steps
- Use an Ethernet cable to connect the WAN port to a gateway modem.
- Connect a computer to the LAN port using the yellow Ethernet cable (optional).
- Connect a USB memory stick for file sharing (optional).
- Connect the power adapter.
Step 2: WiFi Connection
Using SSID
Step 1
The WiFi Network Name (SSID) and WiFi Password are located on the device label. For example: SSID: Zyxel_xxxx, WiFi Security Type: WPA2-PSK, WiFi Password: XXXXXXXXXX.
Step 2
On your smartphone or notebook, search for the WiFi network name (SSID) 'Zyxel_xxxx'. Enter the WiFi Password 'XXXXXXXXXX' to connect.
Using WPS
Step 1
Press the WPS button on the EMG6726-B10A for more than 5 seconds until the WiFi 2.4G and/or 5G LEDs light up in amber. The LEDs will turn green when the connection is ready.
Step 2
Press the WPS button on your client device (e.g., smartphone, laptop) within 2 minutes. If the WPS method fails, use the 'Using SSID' method.
This shows the WPS button on the device. Pressing it activates WPS, indicated by amber blinking LEDs for 2.4GHz and/or 5GHz bands, which turn green upon successful connection. The second step involves pressing the WPS button on the client device within a 2-minute window.
Step 3: Quick Start Wizard
Open a web browser and navigate to http://192.168.1.1.
Enter the default Username 'admin' and the Administrator Password found on the device label. Click 'Login'.
The Quick Start wizard will launch. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup, which may include setting the Time Zone.
This depicts the initial login screen for the web configuration interface, requiring the default username 'admin' and the password found on the device label. Upon successful login, a wizard appears, guiding the user through setup steps like selecting a time zone.
