Step 1: Connecting the Device
Follow these steps to connect your Zyxel device:
- Using the grey telephone cable, connect the DSL port to a DSL splitter or directly to the telephone socket. [DSL Connection]
- Using an Ethernet cable, connect the WAN port to your gateway modem. [WAN Connection]
- Using the yellow Ethernet cable (optional accessory), connect a computer to a LAN port. [LAN Connection]
- Connect the power cable to the Zyxel device and press the power button [⚡].
LED Status Indicators:
- INTERNET (Green): Solid - Internet connection is ready. Blinking - Data transfer/reception in progress.
- INTERNET (Red): Solid - Failed to obtain an IP address. Off - Internet connection is not ready.
- POWER (Green): Solid - Power is on. Blinking - Device is starting up.
- POWER (Red): Solid - A fault has occurred. Blinking - Firmware upgrade in progress.
Step 2: Connecting to WiFi
You can connect to your Zyxel device's WiFi network using two methods:
Method A: Using SSID and Wireless Key
- Scan the QR code on the device label with your smartphone. The SSID and wireless key will be displayed on your phone. [QR Code Scan]
- Wirelessly connect to the Zyxel device using the SSID and wireless key found on the device label. The SSID will appear on your smartphone or laptop display. Enter the wireless key to establish the connection. [WiFi Connection]
Method B: Using WPS Button
- Press and hold the WPS button [WPS] on the device for more than 1 second until the 2.4G and 5G WiFi LEDs turn orange.
- On your client device (e.g., smartphone, laptop), press the WPS button.
- If the WPS method does not work, use the SSID and wireless key (as described in Method A) to connect to WiFi.
WPS LED Status Indicators:
- 2.4G (Orange): Blinking - Zyxel device is connecting to 2.4 GHz WiFi via WPS.
- 2.4G (Green): Solid - 2.4 GHz WiFi is ready. Blinking - Data transfer/reception in progress.
- 5G (Orange): Blinking - Zyxel device is connecting to 5 GHz WiFi via WPS.
- 5G (Green): Solid - 5 GHz WiFi is ready. Blinking - Data transfer/reception in progress.
Step 3: Quick Start Wizard
- Open a web browser on your computer.
- Enter the device's IP address: http://192.168.1.1
- Enter the default username 'admin' and the login password found on the device label.
- Click 'Login'. The setup wizard will launch.
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the wizard to complete the device configuration.
Optional: Wall Mounting
To mount the device on a wall:
- Drill two holes in the wall, spaced 130.8 mm apart.
- Insert wall anchors and screws (not included) into the holes.
- Align the device's wall mounting holes with the screws.
- Carefully hang the device onto the screws.
Note: Screw dimensions for mounting are approximately 6.8-7.1 mm diameter and 2.1-2.3 mm depth.
