Getting Started
Follow these steps to set up your Tapo Smart Light Strip:
- Get the Tapo app from the [App Store] or [Google Play].
- Follow the instructions in the Tapo app to complete the setup.
- Install the Light Strip according to the diagram.
Note: Install it on a dry, clean, and smooth surface. Do not move it to another place after it is attached.
Installation Diagram
The installation process is illustrated in the following steps:
- Step 1: Download the Tapo app from the [App Store] or [Google Play]. This step is represented by app store logos.
- Step 2: Follow the instructions within the Tapo app to complete the setup. This step is indicated by a smartphone screen showing app instructions.
- Step 3: Install the Light Strip according to the diagram. This shows the physical components: the light strip, a power adapter, and a controller unit. A requirement for a minimum length (≥90°) and an LED indicator are visible.
- Step 4: The diagram shows the light strip being applied to a surface, emphasizing proper placement.
- Step 5: The final step depicts the installed light strip, now illuminated, and a smartphone displaying the Tapo app interface, indicating successful setup and control.

- This product is NOT FOR EMERGENCY LIGHTING.
- It is not intended for recessed installation in ceilings or soffits.
- Use only the control provided with or specified by these instructions to control this device.
- To prevent fire danger, do not run the cord behind walls, ceilings, soffits, or cabinets where it may be inaccessible for examination.
- Use only insulated staples or plastic ties to secure cords.
- The maximum distance to the receptacle is determined by the length of the adapter cord.
No restrictions exist in the use of radio frequencies or frequency bands in all EU member states, EFTA countries, Northern Ireland, and Great Britain.
