With IKEA smart lighting, you can easily customize your lighting at home and adapt it for every occasion and activity. When using the STYRBAR remote control, you can dim, turn off, turn on, and switch to different colors from warm to cool light — wirelessly and whenever you like. Extend your system with TRÅDFRI gateway and IKEA Home smart app to be able to set timers, create scenes, and much more. • TRÅDFRI LED bulbs can only be controlled with IKEA smart lighting products.
• IKEA smart lighting is based on ZigBee protocol.
• May not work with wired dimmers.
• IKEA smart products have a range of 32 feet when not blocked by any walls. If there is a larger distance than 32 feet between two smart products, you can place a TRÅDFRI signal repeater in between the two IKEA smart products to extend the signal.
• Always check the maximum wattage for your lamp, so that you can choose a suitable TRÅDFRI LED bulb.
• When using TRÅDFRI drivers for wireless control (10W and 30W), all the IKEA integrated smart lighting can be steered with the TRÅDFRI remote control, or by adding TRÅDFRI Gateway, control with your phone via the IKEA Home smart app.

IKEA SMART LIGHTING GLOSSARY

White spectrum

Three different white tones from warm to cool: warm glow (2200 Kelvin), warm white (2700 Kelvin), cool white (4000 Kelvin).

Light source

LED light bulbs or fixtures.

Steering device

Products used to control light sources, for example the STYRBAR remote control, TRÅDFRI dimmer, motion sensor, smart outlet, or TRÅDFRI shortcut button.

LED driver

The TRÅDFRI LED driver is the central power unit or transformer for integrated LED lighting fixtures. It makes it possible to pair with IKEA steering devices. Must be completed with ANSLUTA power supply cord.

Group

A combination of LED light bulbs that can be coordinated to operate in the same way together.

Scene/Mood

A group of smart products with programmed settings (e.g., dimmed differently, different color temperatures) that come on the same way with one manual or scheduled command via the IKEA Home smart app.

Pair

To add one or more light sources to a steering device.

Gateway

The TRÅDFRI gateway allows customization and control of TRÅDFRI products via a mobile phone or tablet using the IKEA Home smart app.

IKEA SMART LIGHTING - STEP BY STEP

It's easy to get started with IKEA smart lighting. Consider what you will be doing in the room, the type of light you need, and the functions you want. Mixing functional lighting (e.g., a reading lamp) with mood lighting (e.g., a dimmable floor lamp) often yields better results.

What functions are you looking for?

Dimming

For dimming only, choose a complete kit with a TRÅDFRI wireless dimmer and a TRÅDFRI LED light bulb with warm white light (2700 Kelvin).

Dimming and changing from warm to cool light tones

To dim and gradually change light from warm to cool, choose a TRÅDFRI dimmer kit with a remote control and an LED light bulb with a white spectrum.

Dimming, changing within warm and cool light, or different colors

To dim, change color, or shift between warm and cool light, choose a kit with a STYRBAR remote control and an LED light bulb with white and color spectrums.

With a STYRBAR remote control, you can switch between nine colors and white tones:

• White tones: Cool white (4000 Kelvin), Warm white (2700 Kelvin), Warm glow (2200 Kelvin), Candle light (1780 Kelvin)
• Colors: Warm amber, Dark peach, Saturated pink, Light purple, Light blue

Adding the IKEA TRÅDFRI gateway and the Home smart app provides a total of 20 colors and white lights.

• White tones: Cold sky (6000 Kelvin), Cool daylight (5000 Kelvin), Cool white (4000 Kelvin), Sunrise (3000 Kelvin), Warm white (2700 Kelvin), Warm glow (2200 Kelvin), Candle light (1780 Kelvin)

Control your lighting with movement

For automatic light activation upon sensing movement, select the TRÅDFRI wireless motion sensor and a TRÅDFRI LED light bulb with warm white light (2700 Kelvin). Up to 10 light sources can be controlled by one motion sensor. For integrated lighting, pair the driver(s) to the motion sensor.

Customize for every situation

To create different light settings using the IKEA Home smart app, select the TRÅDFRI gateway, a STYRBAR remote control, and two LED light bulbs with a white spectrum. The app allows individual or group control of light sources. Possibilities include:

• Creating moods for various activities (e.g., watching TV, romantic dinner) controlled via remote or app.
• Turning off, on, dimming, and changing light from warm to cool.
• Setting up wake-up lights with schedules and timers.
• Using timers for lights to turn on when away.
• Expanding the system with up to 50 devices (light sources and steering devices) via the TRÅDFRI gateway.
