devolo Giga Bridge Installation Guide
Connecting ONT and router
This guide provides instructions for installing the devolo Giga Bridge, a device designed to connect your ONT (Optical Network Terminal) and router using existing coaxial or telephone cabling. It utilizes G.hn technology for high-speed data transmission.

Step 1: Pairing devolo Giga Bridges
This process involves connecting two devolo Giga Bridge adapters to power outlets and establishing a network connection between them.
Diagram Description: Two devolo Giga Bridge adapters are shown plugged into wall sockets. The LEDs on both adapters will flash white.
Ensure the next installation step is completed within 3 minutes.
Step 2: Establishing the Connection
Connect the two devolo Giga Bridge adapters to each other using the provided network cable, plugging into the 'Phone' sockets.
Diagram Description: Two devolo Giga Bridge adapters are shown connected by a network cable plugged into their respective 'Phone' ports.
A new devolo Giga Bridge network is automatically created (pairing). When both LEDs on the adapters light up white continuously, the pairing is complete, and the network cable can be removed.
Connection Scenarios
The devolo Giga Bridge uses G.hn technology to transmit the internet signal over coaxial (TV/SAT) or telephone lines.
Scenario a: Phone Line
The G.hn signal is transmitted over two telephone wires.
Diagram Description: Shows a router connected to an ONT via Ethernet. One devolo Giga Bridge adapter is connected to a telephone wall socket, and the second adapter is connected to the router's WAN port via a network cable.
Scenario b: Coax Line
The G.hn signal is transmitted via standard coaxial cable.
Diagram Description: Shows a router connected to an ONT via Ethernet. One devolo Giga Bridge adapter is connected to a coaxial wall socket, and the second adapter is connected to the router's WAN port via a network cable.
Telephone Cabling
Step 3a: Preparing Telephone Lines
The telephone cable is removed from the demarcation point and split using LSA connection technology (no stripping, soldering, or screwing required). This creates a standard network interface.
Diagram Description: Illustrates two types of termination boxes for telephone cabling: a Toolless Cat RJ45 termination box and an IDC/LSA Cat RJ45 termination box. Both show pin assignments, specifically noting Pin 4 and Pin 5 for the connection.
Pin Assignment Note: Ensure correct pin assignment: Pin 4/5 for SISO.
Step 4a: Connecting to Wall Socket
Connect the devolo Giga Bridge adapter to the existing wall connection (CAT RJ45 Box) via the 'Phone' socket using the provided telephone cable.
Diagram Description: Shows a devolo Giga Bridge adapter connected via a telephone cable to a CAT RJ45 wall box, and then connected via a network cable to an ONT.
Step 5a: Connecting to Router
Connect the second devolo Giga Bridge adapter to the WAN (Wide Area Network) port of your router using the provided network cable.
Then, use the telephone cable to connect the devolo Giga Bridge (via its 'Phone' socket) to the wall connection.
Diagram Description: Shows a devolo Giga Bridge adapter connected via a network cable to a router's WAN port, and via a telephone cable to a wall connection.
Coaxial Cabling
Step 3b: Connecting to Coaxial Cable
Connect the devolo Giga Bridge adapter to the existing coaxial cabling using the provided cable, plugging it into the 'Coax' socket of the Giga Bridge.
Connect the devolo Giga Bridge to the NT/ONT-Box using the provided network cable.
Diagram Description: Shows a devolo Giga Bridge adapter connected via a coaxial cable to an ONT.
Step 4b: Connecting to Router via Coax
Connect the second devolo Giga Bridge adapter to the WAN (Wide Area Network) port of your router using the provided network cable.
Connect the devolo Giga Bridge to an existing connection in the wall via the F-type socket (Coax).
Diagram Description: Shows a devolo Giga Bridge adapter connected via a network cable to a router's WAN port, and via a coaxial cable (F-type connector) to a wall connection.
LED Status and Button Functions
