Installation Requirements
Location Requirements
Important: Observe all governing codes and ordinances. Do not obstruct flow of combustion and ventilation air.
- It is the installer's responsibility to comply with installation clearances specified on the model/serial/rating plate, located behind the oven door on the top right/left-hand side of the oven frame.
- The range should be located for convenient use in the kitchen.
- Recessed installations must provide complete enclosure of the sides and rear of the range.
- All openings in the wall or floor where the range is to be installed must be sealed.
- Use the specified cabinet opening dimensions; these are minimum clearances.
- The anti-tip bracket must be installed. Refer to the "Install Anti-Tip Bracket" section for installation instructions.
- A grounded electrical supply is required. Refer to "Electrical Requirements" section.
- A proper gas supply connection must be available. Refer to "Gas Supply Requirements" section.
- Contact a qualified floor covering installer to ensure the floor covering can withstand at least 200°F (93°C).
- Use an insulated pad or 1/4" (6.4 mm) plywood under the range if installing over carpeting.
Important: To avoid damage to cabinets, verify with the builder or cabinet supplier that materials used will not discolor, delaminate, or sustain other damage. This oven is designed to comply with UL and CSA International requirements and the maximum allowable wood cabinet temperatures of 194°F (90°C).
Mobile Home Installation Requirements
Installation must conform to the Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standard, Title 24 CFR, Part 3280 (or ANSI A225.1/NFPA 501A or local codes). In Canada, conform to CAN/CSA-Z240.1 or local codes.
- When installed in a mobile home, the range must be secured according to the instructions in this document.
- Any securing method is adequate as long as it conforms to the standards listed.
Cabinet Dimensions
Cabinet opening dimensions are shown for a 25" (64.0 cm) countertop depth, 24" (61.0 cm) base cabinet depth, and 36" (91.4 cm) countertop height.
Important: For range hood or microwave hood combination installations above the cooking surface, follow the specific instructions for those appliances regarding clearances.

Diagram Description: The diagram illustrates cabinet opening dimensions with labels A through N indicating specific measurements and clearances required around the range installation area. Shaded areas (F) indicate recommended locations for rigid gas pipe.
NOTE*: 24" (61.0 cm) minimum clearance is required when the bottom of a wood or metal cabinet is shielded by flame retardant millboard (at least 1/4" or 6.35 mm thick) covered with No. 28 MSG sheet steel, 0.015" (0.4 mm) stainless steel, 0.024" (0.6 mm) aluminum, or 0.020" (0.5 mm) copper. A minimum clearance of 40" (101.6 cm) is required between the top of the cooking platform and the bottom of an uncovered wood or metal cabinet.
Electrical Requirements
WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard
- Plug into a grounded 3-prong outlet.
- Do not remove the ground prong.
- Do not use an adapter.
- Do not use an extension cord.
- Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, fire, or electrical shock.
Important: The range must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes and ordinances, or the National Electrical Code (ANSI/NFPA 70) or Canadian Electrical Code (CSA C22.1).
The range has an electronic ignition system that requires a properly polarized outlet to operate. If codes permit, a qualified electrician should verify the ground path adequacy.
Electrical Circuit Requirements: A 120 V, 60 Hz, AC only, 15 A fused, ground, and polarized electrical circuit is required. A time-delay fuse or circuit breaker is recommended. A separate circuit serving only this range is recommended.
Electronic ignition systems operate within wide voltage limits, but proper grounding and polarity are essential. Verify the outlet provides 120 V and is correctly grounded.
GFCI Outlet Note: This gas range is not required to be plugged into a GFCI outlet. Plugging a spark ignition gas range or other major appliance into a GFCI outlet may cause nuisance tripping. Performance is not affected by GFCI protection, but occasional tripping may occur due to the normal operation of electronic gas ranges.
The tech sheet and wiring diagram are located on the back of the range in a plastic bag.
Note: The metal chassis of the range must be grounded for the control panel to function. If not grounded, no keypads will operate. Consult a qualified electrician if unsure about grounding.
Gas Supply Requirements
WARNING: Explosion Hazard
- Use a new CSA International approved gas supply line.
- Install a shut-off valve.
- Securely tighten all gas connections.
- For propane, ensure gas pressure does not exceed 14" (36 cm) water column, verified by a qualified person (e.g., licensed heating personnel, authorized gas company personnel, or authorized service personnel).
- Failure to comply can result in death, explosion, or fire.
Important: Installation must conform to all local codes and ordinances, or the National Fuel Gas Code (ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54) or, in Canada, the Natural Gas and Propane Installation Code (CSA B149.1).
Leak Testing: Conduct leak testing according to manufacturer's instructions (refer to "Complete Connection" in the "Make gas connection" section).
Type of Gas
This range is factory set for Natural Gas. Check the model/serial/rating plate for usable gas types. Consult your local gas supplier if your gas type is not listed.
Propane Gas Conversion: Must be performed by a qualified service technician. Do not convert the appliance without consulting the gas supplier.
Gas Supply Line
Provide a rigid gas supply line of 3/4" (1.9 cm) to the range location. For propane, a 1/2" (1.3 cm) minimum pipe or tubing size may be used. Consult your propane gas supplier for appropriate materials and sizing.
Note: Use pipe-joint compounds resistant to propane gas. Do not use TEFLON® tape.
Flexible Metal Appliance Connector
If local codes permit, a CSA design-certified, 4 to 5 ft (122 to 152.4 cm) long, 1/2" (13 mm) or 3/4" (19 mm) I.D. flexible metal appliance connector may be used.
A 1/2" (13 mm) male pipe thread is needed for connection to the appliance pressure regulator inlet.
Do not kink or damage the flexible metal tubing when moving the range.
Rigid Pipe Connection
Use a combination of pipe fittings for an in-line connection. The rigid pipe must be level with the range connection. Remove all strains from supply and fuel lines to ensure the range is level and aligned.
Shut-off Valve
Install a manual gas line shut-off valve in an easily accessible location. Do not block access to the valve. The valve is for turning gas supply on or off to the cooktop.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows a gas supply line (A), a shut-off valve in the open position (B), and the connection to the range (C).
Gas Pressure Regulator
Use the supplied gas pressure regulator. Inlet pressure requirements for proper operation are:
- Natural Gas: Minimum pressure: 5" (12.7 cm) WCP; Maximum pressure: 14" (35.5 cm) WCP.
- Propane Gas: Minimum pressure: 11" (27.9 cm) WCP; Maximum pressure: 14" (35.5 cm) WCP.
Consult your local gas supplier if unsure about inlet pressure.
Burner Input Requirements
Input ratings shown on the model/serial/rating plate are for elevations up to 2,000 ft (609.6 m). For elevations above 2,000 ft, ratings are reduced by 4% for each 1,000 ft (304.8 m) above sea level (not applicable for Canada).
Gas Supply Pressure Testing
Test regulator pressure must be at least 1" (2.5 cm) water column pressure above the manifold pressure shown on the model/serial/rating plate.
- Line pressure testing above 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa) [14" (35.5 cm) WCP]: Disconnect the range and its shutoff valve from the gas supply piping system.
- Line pressure testing at 1/2 psi (3.5 kPa) [14" (35.5 cm) WCP] or lower: Isolate the range from the gas supply piping system by closing its manual shutoff valve.
