Setup Guide
Step 1: Assemble the Base Unit
Place the base unit on a stable, flat surface. Insert the water reservoir securely into the base unit. Connect the water pump to the power adapter. Position the pump within the water reservoir, ensuring it is submerged.
Illustration: Shows the base unit with the water reservoir being placed inside, and the water pump being connected to the power adapter and then placed in the reservoir.
Step 2: Install the Grow Light
Attach the adjustable light pole to the designated mounting point on the base unit. Slide the grow light panel onto the top of the pole. Adjust the height of the pole to accommodate plant growth, ensuring the light is at an appropriate distance from the plants.
Images: Depicts the process of attaching the light pole to the base and then mounting the LED grow light panel onto the pole, with an arrow indicating height adjustment.
Step 3: Add Water and Nutrients
Fill the water reservoir with fresh water up to the maximum fill line indicated inside the reservoir. Add the recommended dosage of Growell nutrient solution to the water. Stir gently to ensure even distribution.

Step 4: Plant Seeds/Seedlings
Place your chosen seeds or seedlings into the provided seed pods. Insert the filled seed pods into the designated openings on the top of the base unit or reservoir. Ensure the pods are seated correctly.

Step 5: Power On and Set Timer
Connect the power adapter to the unit and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. Use the control panel on the unit to set the desired lighting schedule (e.g., 16 hours on, 8 hours off) and the pump cycle. Refer to the control panel guide for specific button functions.

Plant Care
Proper care ensures healthy and vigorous plant growth.
Nutrient Management
Plants require nutrients for growth. Add the Growell nutrient solution as per the recommended schedule, typically every two weeks. Monitor the water level regularly and top up with fresh water as needed. Consistent nutrient levels promote strong root development and leaf growth.

Lighting Schedule
The integrated LED grow light provides the necessary spectrum for photosynthesis. A common lighting schedule is 16 hours of light followed by 8 hours of darkness. This cycle can be adjusted based on the specific plant species and their growth stages. Ensure the light is positioned correctly to cover all plants.

Watering
Maintain the water level in the reservoir. The pump circulates water, providing hydration and nutrients to the roots. It is recommended to change the water completely every 2-3 weeks to prevent stagnation and ensure optimal nutrient availability.

Harvesting
Harvesting can begin once plants reach a suitable size. For leafy greens, harvest outer leaves first. This encourages continued growth from the center of the plant. Use clean scissors or shears for harvesting.

Troubleshooting
Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Plants not growing | Insufficient light, incorrect nutrient levels, low water level, pump not functioning. | Verify light timer and position. Check nutrient concentration and water level. Ensure pump is running. |
Yellowing leaves | Nutrient imbalance, pH issues, over/under-watering. | Adjust nutrient mix. Check pH of water if possible. Ensure consistent watering. |
Pump not working | No power, pump clogged, pump not submerged. | Check power adapter connection. Clean pump intake for debris. Ensure pump is fully submerged in water. |
Algae growth in reservoir | Light exposure to water, old water. | Ensure reservoir is covered. Change water and nutrients regularly. Clean reservoir. |
General Care and Maintenance
To keep your Growell system in optimal condition:
- Periodically clean the water reservoir to remove any sediment or algae buildup.
- Wipe down the exterior of the unit and the grow light with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
- Inspect the pump and filter for any blockages and clean as needed.
