This guide provides quick setup instructions for NETUM W8-X and W6-X barcode scanners.
This is a general manual applicable to models W8-X and W6-X. When using command barcodes, refer to the title for specific instructions.
There are three kinds of connection modes available. Choose one of the following to get started:
Human Interface Device Profile. Scanning the barcode below will set the scanner to "Basic Mode".
Important Note: The scanner will power off automatically if a device is not connected within 1 minute.
By default, the scanner is in HID mode as a Keyboard device. It works on a Plug and Play basis, and no driver is required.
If connecting the scanner to the Host via a USB connection, the USB COM Port Emulation feature allows the host to receive data as a serial port. A driver might be required for this feature.
Netum barcode scanners are factory programmed for common terminal and communications settings. To change these settings, scan the appropriate barcodes in this guide. An asterisk (*) next to an option indicates the default setting.
Important Notes: Many command barcodes only work with a scanner in a particular Bluetooth or 2.4GHz mode, as indicated by the header row of each page in the original guide.
For example: If you use a French Keyboard, scan the barcode for “French Keyboard”. Locate the cursor where you want to output the data, then you can start to scan. The American Keyboard is set by default; if you use a US keyboard, you can ignore this setting.
Data will be uploaded after each scan in real time.
All scanned data will be stored directly into the memory of the device.
All data entries in the buffer memory will be manually uploaded after reconnecting to the working station.
Gross quantity of the uploaded data entries will be summarized.
All data in the buffer memory will be deleted.
Disable the scanner from beeping to indicate successful scans.
Enable the scanner to beep to indicate successful scans.
The scanner provides a shortcut for setting the terminating character suffix to CR or CRLF and enabling it by scanning the appropriate barcode below.
The scanner connected to a device will power off within 1 minute if idle/inactive. Scanning the command barcode below will change the default idle time.
When the scanner makes 2 beeps or the battery volume is under 20%, plug the USB cable into the scanner and connect the other side to your device to charge it.
By scanning the barcode below, you can get the remaining battery volume.
