Multi-Position Air Handler

Application Versatility

The AFL Series is designed for upflow, downflow, horizontal left, or horizontal right installations as shipped. For compliance with A2L refrigerants, a Refrigerant Detection System (RDS) is required, and factory-installed RDS are available on A2L refrigerant-ready air handlers, meeting UL 60335 standards. The units are ETL listed for R22 and R410A, and also for R454B and R32 when equipped with an RDS.

Motor

The X-13 motor features 5 speed taps, with variable speed options available through special wiring. Motors are pre-programmed at the factory for ease of use.

Modular Hydronic Heat Kits

Standard heat kits are available with either circuit breakers or terminal blocks, and can be easily installed in the field or ordered factory-installed. A freeze stat is standard and wired into the circulating pump control circuit. Controls are accessible from the front for convenient servicing. Electrical connections can be made from the top or left. A fan time delay relay is standard for enhanced efficiency. Heat kits are offered with or without a circulating pump and check valve. Units include an auxiliary relay for remote pump operation. Schrader ports are standard on the water-out manifold, with a hose bib available as an option.

Blower

Direct drive multi-speed blowers provide quiet and efficient air circulation, allowing for precise air volume selection. Five motor speeds can be easily set via motor terminals. Blowers are mounted on rails for straightforward removal during service.

Cabinet

The sturdy, galvanized steel cabinet features painted front panels. The cabinet is fully insulated with 1/2" micro mat non-hygroscopic insulation to prevent sweating, encapsulate glass fibers, and provide excellent R-value. Stick pins ensure the insulation remains securely in place. Units are shipped with a disposable filter in the filter rack.
