Care Instructions
Aintwood is a plastic material that resembles wood and requires less maintenance compared to wooden furniture. It is dyed polystyrene that can withstand temperatures from -25 °C to +50 °C. The material is recycled as rigid plastic and forms carbon dioxide when burnt. Follow these simple tips to ensure your furniture lasts for many seasons:
General Care
- Clean furniture made from Aintwood regularly after use. Wipe visible dirt and spillages immediately.
- Never place hot objects (e.g., saucepans, cigarettes, barbecue equipment) directly onto the furniture.
- Be aware that in strong sunlight, objects like drinking glasses or vases can focus the sun's rays, potentially causing burn marks on the tabletop.
- Do not leave Aintwood furniture in unventilated glass conservatories where extreme temperatures above +50 °C can be reached, as this may soften and disfigure the material.
- The aluminium frame requires minimal maintenance. Clean it when needed, and touch up any peeling paint.
Cleaning
- Aintwood with a matt finish absorbs stains more readily than a gloss finish. Spills and raindrops are more noticeable. Matt Aintwood therefore requires more frequent cleaning. Using placemats and table covers is recommended to reduce cleaning needs.
- For light dirt stains, soapy water and a cloth or sponge are sufficient. For tougher stains, such as red wine, coffee, and grease, a more concentrated detergent solution is required. Apply the solution generously and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Gently rub the area with a soft sponge in the direction of the grain. Avoid cleaning in direct sunlight to prevent rapid drying. Rinse thoroughly with water. Repeat if necessary.
- For a more dirt-resistant surface, treat Aintwood with a special polish designed for the material. This may make the surface shinier and slightly darker, but it will be less prone to stains and easier to keep clean. Always follow the instructions on the product packaging.
Storage
Use a furniture cover to protect the table surface from rain stains, dirt (e.g., pollen), and fading when the furniture is not in use during the summer. During winter, store the furniture indoors in a cool, moderately dry place, such as a garage or storage room. If using a furniture cover, ensure adequate ventilation by allowing air to escape from the lower corner. Always clean your furniture before storing it for the winter.
NOTE! Do not use dark or colored furniture covers or tarpaulins on pale Aintwood furniture. There is a risk of color migration, where the color from the cover/tarpaulin transfers to the pale plastic surface, causing discoloration.
Right of Complaint
According to current law, any product complaint must be made at the point of purchase, accompanied by the original receipt. The user is responsible for any damage to the product resulting from misuse or failure to follow this user manual. In such cases, the right of complaint will not apply.
PLEASE NOTE! This outdoor furniture is intended for private use only, in locations not accessible to the general public, such as private gardens, terraces, and balconies. The Consumer Sales Act is applicable only when these conditions are met.
