Diagrams and Performance
Indoor Model Dimensions
The indoor model has overall dimensions of approximately 24-7/8 inches (631 mm) in height, 17-3/4 inches (450 mm) in width, and 11-1/4 inches (285 mm) in depth. Key connections are located on the front/side: a 4" (102 mm) female exhaust port at the top, HOT water connection (4-3/4" / 120 mm), Drain port (6-3/4" / 170 mm), COLD water connection (5/8" / 17 mm), 120 VAC connection (3" / 77 mm), GAS connection (5-3/4" / 147 mm), and a Condensate drain port (7-1/2" / 189 mm). The bottom view shows HOT water, 120 VAC, GAS, COLD water, and Condensate drain ports. A side view details additional GAS, HOT, Drain, COLD, 120 VAC, and Condensate drain connections.
Outdoor Model Dimensions
The outdoor model shares similar overall dimensions to the indoor unit: approximately 24-7/8 inches (631 mm) in height, 17-3/4 inches (450 mm) in width, and 11-1/4 inches (285 mm) in depth. It features a 4" (102 mm) female exhaust port at the top. Connections include HOT water (4-3/4" / 120 mm), Drain port (6-3/4" / 170 mm), COLD water (5/8" / 17 mm), GAS (5-3/4" / 147 mm), and Condensate drain port (7-1/2" / 189 mm) on the front/side. The bottom view shows HOT water, 120 VAC, GAS, COLD water, and Condensate drain ports. A side view details connections for GAS, HOT water, Drain port, COLD water, 120 VAC, and Condensate drain.
Performance Graphs
Flow Rate vs. Temperature Rise
This graph illustrates the relationship between flow rate (in Gallons Per Minute, GPM) on the vertical axis and temperature rise (in Fahrenheit, °F) on the horizontal axis. For a set temperature of 125°F (52°C) or lower (solid line), the flow rate decreases as the temperature rise increases. For a set temperature of 130°F (55°C) or higher (dashed line), a similar trend is observed. A horizontal dashed line at 8.0 GPM indicates the minimum flow rate required for continuous operation after initial ignition.
Pressure Loss
This graph displays pressure loss (in psi) on the left vertical axis and head (in feet) on the right vertical axis, both against flow rate (in GPM) on the horizontal axis. The solid line (for set temperatures 125°F / 52°C or lower) and the dashed line (for set temperatures 130°F / 55°C or higher) show that pressure loss increases significantly as the flow rate increases.
Technical Specifications Summary
The Lochinvar LCT-199 series tankless water heaters are fully modulating, on-demand, condensing gas units with a maximum input rating of 199,000 Btu/h, available for Natural Gas (NG) or Propane (LP). They feature 3/4" male NPT water and gas connections. Inlet gas supply pressures range from 4.0 to 10.5 in. WC for NG and 8.0 to 14.0 in. WC for LP. Indoor models include an integrated temperature controller with diagnostic information and fault history. Outdoor models come with a remote controller mountable up to 400 ft. away. The heaters operate on a 120 V / 60 Hz power source. Indoor models include a factory-installed power cord. Venting can utilize 3" or 4" diameter schedule 40 PVC, CPVC, ABS, or Category IV pipe, with lengths up to 70 ft. for 3" vent and 100 ft. for 4" vent. The primary heat exchanger is commercial-grade copper with brass or bronze waterways, and the secondary heat exchanger is 316L stainless steel. The control system uses thermistors, a flow sensor, and a flame sensor, with built-in fusing and surge absorbers for electrical protection. They are equipped with electronic spark ignition, hi-limit temperature switches, a modulating gas valve, and dual freeze protection (indoor models only). The units can be manifolded using Easy-Link (up to 4 units) or a Multi-Unit controller (5-20 units) for enhanced capacity and efficient performance, with priority heater rotation. The models are CSA design certified (ANSI Z21.10.3, CSA 4.3), ENERGY STAR® qualified, meet U.S. Department of Energy and ASHRAE 90.1 efficiency requirements, comply with SCAQMD Rule 1146.2 for low NOx emissions (14 ng/J or 20 ppm), and are certified to NSF 5 standards.
