Danfoss Differential Pressure Switch Installation Guide
Types MBC 5080 and MBC 5180
Product Overview
This document provides installation guidance for Danfoss differential pressure switches, specifically for the MBC 5080 and MBC 5180 types.
Electrical Specifications
Rating Type | Current / Power | Voltage |
---|---|---|
AC 15 | 0.5 A | 250 V |
DC 13 | 12 W | 125 V |
Electrical Connection Details
The electrical connection is made to the pressure switch enclosure and features three terminals:
- Terminal 1 (In): The input terminal for the electrical signal.
- Terminal 2 (Out NO): This is a Normally Open contact. It is open when the pressure is below the setpoint and closes when the pressure reaches or exceeds the setpoint.
- Terminal 3 (Out NC): This is a Normally Closed contact. It is closed when the pressure is below the setpoint and opens when the pressure reaches or exceeds the setpoint.
Mounting and Connections
The differential pressure switch can be mounted using:
- Thread Connection: Features a G 1/4 thread for direct mounting.
- Flange Connection: An alternative flange mounting method is available.
Installation and Safety Notes
Attention: Use only the accompanying plug for connection. This is crucial even when replacing components.
Torque Specifications:
- For certain connections: 1.5 ± 0.5 Nm
- For other connections: 4-5 Nm
- For specific electrical connections: 0.2 ± 0.1 Nm
Technical Data
Operation Temperature: The operating temperature range for these switches is -10 °C to 85 °C.
Hysteresis: The switches are equipped with fixed hysteresis. This means there is a constant, defined difference between the pressure at which the switch activates (closes or opens a contact) and the pressure at which it deactivates.
