⚠️ WARNING: Risk to Children and Impaired Persons
Supervision is required for children 12 years and younger, and individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, during installation, operation, cleaning, and maintenance. Ensure children do not play with the appliance, its parts, or packaging.
⚠️ INSTALLATION WARNING—To reduce risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury:
- Place the product away from curtains, draperies, tablecloths, and other fabrics to prevent them from being drawn into the motor, which could cause damage or fire.
- Keep the product away from heat sources like furnaces, fireplaces, and stoves.
- Do not use in a window, on uneven/unstable surfaces, or near water.
- Ensure the appliance, power cord, and plug do not contact water. Do not use on wet surfaces.
- Do not use in a bathtub or shower, or where the product might fall into a bathtub, laundry area, swimming pool, or other water container.
- Do not use outdoors or expose to weather or elements.
- Do not run the cord under carpeting, throw rugs, runners, or similar coverings.
- Do not route the cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange the cord away from traffic areas to prevent tripping.
- The cord should not hang over edges of counters or be placed where it can be crimped or closed in doors.
- Place the appliance near an easily accessible outlet for quick unplugging in emergencies.
⚠️ SAFE USE WARNING—To reduce risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury:
- Do not operate with a solid-state speed device like a dimmer switch.
- Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. Discard or return for repair.
- Do not operate if the unit has been dropped or damaged.
- To avoid electrical shock, do not attempt to repair or replace parts yourself. Use only original replacement parts.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons. Contact Vornado Consumer Service for replacement and repair instructions.
- Before plugging in, ensure electrical information (voltage) on the rating label is compatible with your outlet's power supply.
- Do not sit or stand on the product.
- Never use the cord as a handle or yank, strain, or stretch it.
- While plugged in, do not insert foreign objects into openings, as this may cause electric shock or fire.
- A loose wall outlet connection can cause overheating and plug distortion. Discontinue use and contact a qualified electrician.
- The power cord has a three-prong, grounded plug; use only in a grounded receptacle.
- Before moving, repositioning, servicing, or cleaning, turn off the power and unplug the unit. Grasp only the plug to disconnect.
- Power off and unplug if the product will be left unattended or during electrical storms.
⚠️ SERVICING WARNING—To reduce risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury:
- Clean regularly as instructed. Turn off and unplug before cleaning. Do not use gasoline, thinners, solvents, ammonias, or other chemicals.
- Do not open the appliance housing while plugged in. All service/repairs must be done by a Vornado Authorized Service Center.
- The product has overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit. If the fuse blows, unplug, replace with the correct rating (5 Amp, 125 Volt), and check the product. If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present; discard or return for service.
User Servicing Instructions (Fuse Replacement):
- Turn off and unplug the appliance.
- Grasp the plug (not the cord) and disconnect from the outlet.
- For fuse replacement, use only a 5 Amp, 125 Volt fuse approved by Vornado Consumer Service.
- Use a small flat-head screwdriver to slide open the fuse cover on the plug.
- Gently lift each end of the fuse with the screwdriver to remove it.
- Install the replacement fuse by gently pushing each metal end into the receptacle one at a time. Do not push the center of the fuse, as it is fragile.
- Slide the fuse cover closed; it should fit completely in the plug without sticking out.
- Plug the appliance into the outlet and turn on the power.
- If the replacement fuse blows, a short-circuit may be present; discard or return for service.
Note: Do not replace the attachment plug. It contains a safety device (fuse, AFCI, LCDI) that should not be removed. Discard the product if the attachment plug is damaged.

How to Use: Wall Mount Installation
Image Description: The back of the Vornado circulator is shown, with the keyholes labeled 'A'. The diagram illustrates how to position the fan on screws mounted to a wall.
- Locate the Key Holes (A) on the back of the product.
- On the wall, find and mark two circles for mounting. For the EXO51 HD, the circles should be 5 inches apart (center to center). For the EXO61 HD, they should be 5.5 inches apart (center to center).
- Note: It is recommended to use drywall anchors or mount on a solid surface or wall stud. Do NOT hang the product on the ceiling.
- Drill 2 #10 panhead screws into the drywall anchors, solid surface, or wall stud (screws are not included). Screws should be rated for a 10 lb vertical load each.
- Leave approximately 1¼ inches of each screw exposed.
- Place the wide portions of the Key Holes (A) over the heads of the two screws.
- Slide the product down until the screws are inside the narrow portion of the key holes, securing the product to the surface.
Note: Hang the product from a sturdy location using large screws that will support its weight. Ensure the mounting does not impede fan operation or damage the cord. Route the electrical cord safely to avoid tripping or pulling. Avoid placing the product where it could be easily bumped.
Cleaning
Grille Removal: Screwdriver required.
⚠️ WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock and injury, unplug the circulator before removing the grille.
- Remove the 6 screws located on the front of the grille.
- Dust or wash the Front Grille with mild dishwashing soap. Do not place the grille in a dishwasher, as excessive heat can distort the plastic.
- To reattach, align the 6 screw holes and replace all the screws.
Image Description: The front grille of the Vornado circulator is shown. Callouts indicate the locations of six screws around the perimeter of the grille.
? Tip: Use the brush attachment on your household vacuum cleaner to remove any accumulated dust from the Front Grille and Air Inlets.
Cleaning: Blade Removal
Pliers recommended.
⚠️ WARNING: To reduce the risk of electrical shock and injury, unplug the circulator before removing the blade.
- First, remove the nut from the shaft by turning it clockwise to loosen. Remove the washer. Pull the blade straight out from the shaft.
- Wipe the Blade with a damp cloth. If the circulator is used in a greasy environment (e.g., kitchen), mild soap or a common household cleaner may be used. Do not use solvents. Do not place the blade in a dishwasher.
- To reattach, ensure the flat side of the shaft aligns with the corresponding flat side on the blade's socket. Push the blade onto the shaft until it is fully seated. Do not use a hammer, as this could damage the bearing. Reinstall the washer and nut.
Image Description: The fan unit is shown with the grille removed. A nut ('Nut') is highlighted, indicating its position securing the blade to the motor shaft.
