User Servicing Instructions (Fuse Replacement)

WARNING: Risk of Fire. Do not replace the attachment plug. It contains safety devices (fuse, AFCI, LCDI) that should not be removed. Discard the product if the attachment plug is damaged.

  1. Turn off the appliance using the product controls.
  2. Grasp the plug (not the cord) and disconnect from the outlet.
  3. Replace fuse only with a 5 Amp, 125 Volt fuse approved by Vornado Consumer Service.
  4. Once the replacement fuse is received, use a small flat-head screwdriver to slide open the fuse cover on the plug. (See Figure A: Fuse cover on plug).
  5. Remove the old fuse by gently lifting each end with the screwdriver. (See Figure B: Removing fuse).
  6. Install the replacement fuse by gently pushing each metal end into the receptacle one at a time. Do not push on the center, as it is fragile. (See Figure C: Installing fuse).
  7. Slide the fuse cover closed using the screwdriver, ensuring it fits completely and flush. (See Figure D: Closing fuse cover).
  8. Plug the appliance back into the outlet and turn on the power.
  9. If the replacement fuse blows again, a short-circuit may be present. Discard the product or return it to an authorized service facility.

Getting Started: Window Installation

NOTE: The TRANSOM is designed for double-hung and some slider-type windows. DO NOT attempt vertical window installation.

  1. We recommend keeping the window screen in place.
  2. Center the TRANSOM in the window, ensuring the foam on the bottom of the product is snugly secured in the bottom of the window casing.
  3. Close the window.
  4. Tuck the Soft-Fit foam blocks on either side of the product securely into the window casing.

How to Use:

  1. Touch the ⏻ button to power the unit ON or OFF.
  2. Select desired speed by pressing ⬆️ or ⬇️. There are four speeds: 1-LOW, 2-MEDIUM, 3-HIGH, 4-TURBO.
  3. Touch the ➡️/⬅️ button to change from direct airflow to exhaust, or vice versa.
  4. Touch the ? button to activate AUTO MODE. The icon will turn green. Touch it again to deactivate AUTO MODE; the icon will turn white.

Note: The remote requires a line-of-sight path to the receiver lens on the product (located near the control panel).

Battery Replacement:

The remote uses one 3V CR2032 coin cell battery (pre-installed). Remove the battery pull tab before first use.

  1. For replacement, use a 3V CR2032 battery.
  2. To replace, loosen the small screw on the battery door on the back of the remote using a #1 Phillips screwdriver (?).
  3. Clean battery contacts if necessary. Remove any plastic protection from the new battery.
  4. Place the battery in the remote with the '+' side facing out, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Replace the battery door and screw.

Note: Remove the battery if the remote will not be used for an extended period. Always remove dead batteries immediately.

Cleaning

Regular cleaning is necessary as the product moves a substantial amount of air. If service is required, return the unit to Vornado (see Warranty).

WARNING: Unplug the tower before cleaning to reduce the risk of electrical shock and injury.

Regular Cleaning:

  1. Unplug the tower before cleaning.
  2. Use the brush attachment on your household vacuum cleaner to remove accumulated dust.
  3. Wipe down the entire tower with a soft cloth.

Note: Do not use gasoline, thinners, solvents, or other chemicals for cleaning. The motor is permanently lubricated and requires no oiling.

Troubleshooting

PROBLEMPOSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTION
Unit fails to power on.
  • Unit is not plugged in. Plug power cord into an electrical outlet.
  • Unit is damaged or needs repair. Cease use, unplug, and contact Consumer Service.
  • Fuse needs replacement. Refer to "User Servicing Instructions" or contact Consumer Service.
Unit is not producing sufficient amount of air.
  • Ensure unit is set to the highest speed for maximum circulation.
  • Allow the unit several minutes to circulate air throughout the room.
  • Ensure all air inlets and outlet grilles are unobstructed.
Remote Control is not working.
  • The battery is dead. Replace with a new 3V CR2032 battery (refer to "Remote Control - Battery Replacement").
  • The remote requires a line-of-sight path. Position the unit so the receiver lens is visible from the remote control.
Air is not moving in the desired direction.Switch the airflow direction from DIRECT to EXHAUST (or EXHAUST to DIRECT).
Unit is on but there is no air moving.Preset temperature in AUTO mode might be too high. Lower the set temperature or turn AUTO mode off.

Warranty

Vornado Air LLC ("Vornado") warrants this Whole Room Circulator ("Product") to the original consumer or purchaser to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase. If any defect is discovered within the warranty period, Vornado will, at its discretion, repair or replace the Product at no cost.

For warranty or repair service:

Repairs not covered by warranty or outside the warranty period will incur a fee for materials, labor, handling, and shipping.

Warranty Exclusions: This warranty does not apply to defects from abuse, modification, mishandling, improper maintenance, commercial use, unauthorized repair, damages during shipment, or acts of God. Improper product use, such as using external devices to alter voltage/frequency or shipping to unintended countries, will void warranties. Unauthorized modifications or repairs are not recommended.

Limitations: REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT AS PROVIDED UNDER THIS WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY. VORNADO IS NOT LIABLE FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY. Some states may not allow limitations on implied warranties or consequential damages.
