BLU M8L PLUS Quick Guide
This guide provides essential information for using your BLU M8L PLUS tablet.
About Your Device
Transportation Safety: Observe all transportation laws and regulations. PLEASE DRIVE RESPONSIBLY - DO NOT TEXT & DRIVE.
Hospital Safety: Follow hospital rules and limitations and turn off your device when near medical instruments.
Airport Safety: Remember to follow all airport and flight safety regulations.
Water Hazard: Your device is not waterproof. Keep your device away from water or liquid to avoid damage.
Emergency Calls: Make sure your mobile device is switched on and in a service area. On the home screen, tap the phone key and dial the emergency number.
Battery Usage: For better performance and longer battery life, it is recommended that you charge the battery fully before using the device for the first time and complete two to three charge cycles.
Key Functions
The BLU M8L PLUS features the following key components:
- Front Camera: A high-resolution front camera for taking pictures and videos, ideal for self-portraits.
- Rear Camera: A high-resolution rear camera for taking pictures and videos.
- Flash: Provides light for pictures in low-light conditions and can also be used as a flashlight.
Device Buttons and Ports:
- Volume: Adjusts the ringer volume, call volume, and multimedia volume.
- Power On / Off (Marche / Arrêt / Ligar / Desligar): Used to power on/off the device and lock the screen. Long press the power button to power on. While the phone is powered on, press the power button and volume + simultaneously to access the power off menu.
- Home (Inicio / Accueil): Pauses any current action and returns to the home screen.
- Back (Retroceder / Voltar): Returns to the previous screen; closes the keyboard, any open program, or any menu option.
- Recent Apps (Apps Recientes / Applications Récentes): Opens a list of recently opened applications, allowing convenient switching and closing of apps by swiping.
- USB Port (Puerto de USB / Entrada USB Multifuncional / Port USB): Charges the device and transfers data (documents, music, video) between your device and a PC.
- Headset Port (Puerto de Auricular / Entrada do Fone de Ouvido / Port de Casque): Connect earphones for hands-free capabilities, music, or FM radio.
Introduction & Device Configuration
SIM Card Installation:
Warning: Keep the SIM card out of reach of children. The SIM card and its contacts are easily damaged by scratching or bending. Handle with care during transport, installation, or removal. Contact your service provider for your SIM card.
To insert the SIM card:
- Open the SIM card tray. Insert the SIM card.
- Insert the SD card for additional storage capacity.
- Close the SIM card tray and power on the phone.
Initial Setup:
When you first power on your device, you will go through a series of steps to set up basic features:
- Insert SIM: Register your SIM card to the network.
- Select Language: Choose your preferred language. You can also adjust vision settings (magnification, font, display size) and place an emergency call.
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Connect to a Wi-Fi network for internet access. Unsecured networks connect directly; secured networks require a password. It is recommended to connect to Wi-Fi to check for software updates before startup to avoid data overages.
- Copy Apps & Data: Choose to transfer apps, pictures, music, and more from a previous device, or set up as new.
- Add Your Account: Sign in to your Google™ Account for streamlined services (Google Play™, Google Drive, Google Pay). Create a new account if needed. Security verification may be required if the device is not recognized.
- Google Services: Add services like Google Assistant, Backup and Restore, Location Services, and App Updates.
- Device Protection: Set up a PIN or password for device protection (can be done later).
- Finalize Setup: Configure Google Assistant, add another email address, control lock screen information, and review additional apps. This step can be skipped and completed later.
