- 10. Second-Row Seat Cupholders
Ensure all items in the vehicle are securely fastened to prevent injury in case of an accident or sudden maneuver.
Power Outlets for Additional Equipment
The vehicle has power outlets for additional equipment. Use only approved Land Rover accessories. Using unapproved equipment may damage the vehicle's electrical system. Consult a dealer or authorized workshop if unsure.
Note: Additional equipment should only be used while the engine is running to prevent battery discharge. Power outlets can be used for approved accessories with a maximum power consumption of 180W.
Cargo Cover
Instructions for operating the cargo cover, including deployment, two positions, retracting, and removal for 7-seater models. Ensure the cargo cover is secured when not in use. Do not place items on the cargo cover.
Cargo Tie-Down Points
There are four tie-down points in the rear cargo area for securing large items. All items in the cargo area must be securely fastened.
Towing a Trailer
This section covers trailer towing, including maximum towing weights, tongue weight, and trailer electrical connections.
Maximum Permissible Trailer Weight:
- Trailers without brakes: 750 kg (1653 lbs)
- Trailers with overrun brakes: 3500 kg (7716 lbs)
- Tongue weight (removable hitch): 150 kg (330 lbs)
- Tongue weight (multi-position hitch): 250 kg (551 lbs)
Do not exceed the maximum tongue weight. When the vehicle is loaded to its maximum permissible weight (GVW), the tongue weight with a multi-position hitch is limited to 150 kg (330 lbs) to avoid exceeding the rear axle load. To increase tongue weight to the maximum 250 kg (551 lbs), reduce GVW by 100 kg (220 lbs).
Note: For Australia: Tongue weight must be at least 7% of the total trailer/vehicle mass, but not more than 250 kg (551 lbs). With a removable hitch, tongue weight can be increased to 350 kg (772 lbs) by reducing GVW by 200 kg (441 lbs).
Note: When calculating rear axle load, consider tongue weight, cargo, roof rack, and passengers.
Note: For EU countries, GVW can be increased by 100 kg (220 lbs) if speed does not exceed 100 km/h (60 mph).
Trailer Electrical Equipment: Connect only approved and functional electrical equipment to the trailer connector.
Towing Precautions
- Do not exceed the maximum permissible load for the vehicle or trailer. This can lead to accelerated wear, damage, reduced stability, and increased braking distance.
- Use only approved Land Rover towing equipment.
- Do not use body tie-down points for towing; they are not designed for this purpose and can fail, causing injury.
- To prevent gearbox overheating, avoid towing a loaded trailer at speeds below 32 km/h (21 mph) in higher gears. Use a lower gear range.
Mandatory Checks Before Towing
- When calculating towing weight, include both trailer and cargo weight.
- Distribute weight between the vehicle and trailer, with more weight in the vehicle for better stability.
- Do not exceed vehicle weight limits.
- Load the trailer so it remains parallel to the ground for stability, especially with tandem-axle trailers.
- Ensure tire pressures are correct for maximum load.
- Use a suitable safety cable or secondary coupling.
- Ensure the hitch is securely fastened.
- Check trailer lights.
Hitch Guidance Function
This feature on the touchscreen assists in connecting the trailer hitch. It displays a trajectory line. Follow these steps:
- Engage reverse gear (R). The rearview camera displays the area behind the vehicle.
- Open camera settings and select 'Hitch assist'.
- A single trajectory line will be projected.
- Reverse towards the trailer.
- At approximately 600 mm (2 ft) from the hitch, the image will automatically zoom in.
- Continue maneuvering until the vehicle and trailer are properly aligned.
Note: A target sticker must be applied to the trailer for this function to work.
Trailer Towing Assistance
The trailer towing assistance system helps with reversing with a trailer by displaying instructions on the touchscreen. The system activates when a trailer is connected and the trailer plug is inserted. The system may require initial setup, including trailer length, number of axles, and camera settings.
