Climate Control and Ventilation

This section provides information on the climate control system of the vehicle, including manual and automatic operation, seat heating, and rear climate control.

Climate Control in the Front of the Cabin

The climate control system allows for individual temperature settings for the driver and passenger. It also includes controls for seat heating, air distribution, and automatic operation.

Automatic Climate Control

The AUTO mode engages the automatic climate control system, which regulates fan speed, air intake, and air distribution to maintain the set temperature and reduce window fogging without manual adjustments. Air distribution and fan speed can be controlled separately by disabling AUTO mode.

Note: The maximum temperature difference between the left and right sides of the cabin is 4°C (7°F).

Automatic Recirculation

This mode circulates air within the vehicle, helping to maintain temperature and prevent the entry of outside air. Prolonged use may cause windows to fog.

Air Quality Sensor

Press once to activate recirculation. Press again for automatic recirculation. Press a third time to deactivate.

Window Defrost

Press the respective button to activate defrosting. The system automatically turns off after a set time. Defrosting also activates automatically in defrost mode or at low outside temperatures.

Climate Control in the Rear of the Cabin

Controls for rear climate control include temperature adjustment and air distribution. These controls are active only after pressing button (12) to manually control the rear climate system.

Additional Heater

The vehicle may be equipped with an additional fuel-operated heater that operates at low temperatures. It is controlled by the climate control system with a timer. Visible exhaust gases are normal. Do not use the additional heater during refueling. Do not use the auxiliary heater in enclosed spaces due to the risk of toxic gas accumulation.

Climate Control System with Timer

The climate control system with a timer pre-heats or cools the cabin before occupants enter. It can be activated via the touchscreen or remote control. The system may not operate or may shut off automatically under certain conditions, such as low fuel level, low battery charge, or if the engine coolant temperature is at or above operating temperature.

Setting the Climate Control Timer

The touchscreen can be used to program activation times. Follow these steps:

  1. Press the HOME MENU button.
  2. Press the Timed Climate button.
  3. Select the desired day or 'All Week'.
  4. Press Timer 1 or Timer 2.
  5. Use the up/down arrows to set the activation time.
  6. Press OK. The activation time will be displayed.

Note: The system turns off when the engine is started. Programmed heating cycles can be canceled via the timer settings or the Power button.

Using the Remote Climate Control Timer

The remote control has ON and OFF buttons, and an indicator LED. The remote operates up to approximately 100m. Press and hold the ON button for two seconds to activate the automatic heating program. The LED indicates the status of the heater.

Additional remote controls can be programmed for the vehicle.

Replacing the Remote Control Battery

Turn the remote over, use a coin to turn the battery compartment cover counter-clockwise. Remove the cover to access the battery. Replace the old battery with a new CR1/3N 3.3V battery, observing polarity. Replace the cover and turn clockwise to secure.

Storage Compartments

The vehicle offers various storage compartments:

Ensure all items in the vehicle are securely fastened to prevent injury in case of an accident or sudden maneuver.

Power Outlets for Additional Equipment

The vehicle has power outlets for additional equipment. Use only approved Land Rover accessories. Using unapproved equipment may damage the vehicle's electrical system. Consult a dealer or authorized workshop if unsure.

Note: Additional equipment should only be used while the engine is running to prevent battery discharge. Power outlets can be used for approved accessories with a maximum power consumption of 180W.

Cargo Cover

Instructions for operating the cargo cover, including deployment, two positions, retracting, and removal for 7-seater models. Ensure the cargo cover is secured when not in use. Do not place items on the cargo cover.

Cargo Tie-Down Points

There are four tie-down points in the rear cargo area for securing large items. All items in the cargo area must be securely fastened.

Towing a Trailer

This section covers trailer towing, including maximum towing weights, tongue weight, and trailer electrical connections.

Maximum Permissible Trailer Weight:

Do not exceed the maximum tongue weight. When the vehicle is loaded to its maximum permissible weight (GVW), the tongue weight with a multi-position hitch is limited to 150 kg (330 lbs) to avoid exceeding the rear axle load. To increase tongue weight to the maximum 250 kg (551 lbs), reduce GVW by 100 kg (220 lbs).

Note: For Australia: Tongue weight must be at least 7% of the total trailer/vehicle mass, but not more than 250 kg (551 lbs). With a removable hitch, tongue weight can be increased to 350 kg (772 lbs) by reducing GVW by 200 kg (441 lbs).

Note: When calculating rear axle load, consider tongue weight, cargo, roof rack, and passengers.

Note: For EU countries, GVW can be increased by 100 kg (220 lbs) if speed does not exceed 100 km/h (60 mph).

Trailer Electrical Equipment: Connect only approved and functional electrical equipment to the trailer connector.

Towing Precautions

Mandatory Checks Before Towing

Hitch Guidance Function

This feature on the touchscreen assists in connecting the trailer hitch. It displays a trajectory line. Follow these steps:

  1. Engage reverse gear (R). The rearview camera displays the area behind the vehicle.
  2. Open camera settings and select 'Hitch assist'.
  3. A single trajectory line will be projected.
  4. Reverse towards the trailer.
  5. At approximately 600 mm (2 ft) from the hitch, the image will automatically zoom in.
  6. Continue maneuvering until the vehicle and trailer are properly aligned.

Note: A target sticker must be applied to the trailer for this function to work.

Trailer Towing Assistance

The trailer towing assistance system helps with reversing with a trailer by displaying instructions on the touchscreen. The system activates when a trailer is connected and the trailer plug is inserted. The system may require initial setup, including trailer length, number of axles, and camera settings.

Storage of Tow Ball/Hitch

The hitch/tow ball is heavy; handle with care. The locking lever may spring back when the ball is locked. Store the hitch/tow ball under the cargo area floor (5-seater) or behind a cover in the left cargo area (7-seater).

Installing the Removable Tow Ball

  1. Remove the protective cover from the tow ball and store it in the designated compartment.
  2. The tow ball can only be installed when the green locking lever is unlocked.
  3. Insert the tow ball into the bracket and push upwards until it locks.
  4. The green locking lever should fully cover the red marker line.
  5. Turn the key counter-clockwise to lock the tow ball before towing, then remove the key.

Note: Do not exceed the maximum load on the removable tow ball. Store the tow ball in its designated place when not in use. For heavier loads or commercial use, an adjustable height tow bar is available.

Removing the Removable Tow Ball

Removal is the reverse of installation. The key cannot be removed when the tow ball is detached.

Installing the Removable Hitch Receiver (Australia Only)

  1. Remove the protective cover from the hitch receiver and store it in the designated compartment.
  2. The hitch receiver can only be installed when the green locking lever is unlocked.
  3. Insert the receiver into the vehicle bracket and push upwards until it locks.
  4. The green locking lever should fully cover the red marker line.
  5. Unfold the key and turn it counter-clockwise to lock the receiver, then insert the tow bar. Remove the key and store it safely.

Removing the Removable Hitch Receiver

Removal is the reverse of installation. The key cannot be removed when the hitch receiver is detached.
