Important Note on HDMI Sources:
Many HDMI video sources are encrypted with content protection called "HDCP," even if the content is not copyrighted. Complying with laws, the Video2USB™ device does not record or live stream HDMI sources that have content protection.
Quick Start Guide
HDMI SOURCES: Read the important note on HDCP protection before continuing.
STEP #1: Connect the Device
Plug the ClearClick Video2USB device into your PC or Mac. If your computer lacks a USB-C port, use the included USB-C to USB-A adapter.
STEP #2: Automatic Installation
Your computer will automatically install the device, typically within one minute.
STEP #3: Download and Install Software
Go to www.ClearClick.com/software/ to download and install the OBS software on your computer.
STEP #4: Open OBS Software
Launch the OBS software.
STEP #5: Configure Scenes
Under the "Scenes" panel, ensure only one scene is listed. If multiple scenes exist, delete the extras using the [minus]
button. If no scenes are present, click the [plus]
button to create one.
STEP #6: Clear Existing Sources
Under the "Sources" panel, delete any pre-existing sources by selecting them and clicking the [minus]
button until the "Sources" list is empty.
STEP #7: Add Video Capture Device
Click the [plus]
button under "Sources," then select "Video Capture Device." Click [OK]
to create the video source.
In the video source settings, ensure the "Device" is set to "ClearClick" and click [OK]
.
STEP #8: Add Audio Input Capture
Click the [plus]
button under "Sources," then choose "Audio Input Capture." Click [OK]
to create the audio source.
In the audio source settings, ensure the "Device" is set to "Digital Audio Interface - ClearClick" or a similar option and click [OK]
.
STEP #9: Connect Video/Audio Sources
Plug an HDMI source, AV source, or S-Video source into the Video2USB™ device. You should see your video source on the screen.
Note on Audio Monitoring: You will not hear the audio directly from your source during preview or recording. However, the audio will be present in the final recording or stream. Verify audio is being captured by observing the green bar below "Audio Input Capture."
STEP #10: Start/Stop Recording or Streaming
Click the "Start Recording" or "Start Streaming" buttons to begin. Click "Stop Recording" or "Stop Streaming" to end.
STEP #11: Playback Recorded Videos
Browse your PC or Mac's "Videos" folder to find your recordings. The software typically saves them there.
STEP #12: Adjust Recording Settings (Optional)
If recorded videos appear jerky or not smooth, adjust the recording settings. Click [Settings]
, navigate to the "Output" section, select "High Quality, Medium File Size" under "Recording Quality," and click [Apply/OK]
.
Playback Files on Older Computers
If your computer has trouble playing back recorded files (e.g., MKV format), download the free VLC media player from www.VideoLAN.org.

Troubleshooting / FAQs
- Q1: I get an error: "HDCP Protection Not Supported."
- A: This indicates your HDMI video source is copyrighted and/or has content protection. The ClearClick Video2USB device cannot legally record from such sources. Refer to page 3 for more information.
- Q2: I don't get a signal from my video source in the OBS software.

- Ensure an HDMI, AV, or S-Video source is connected to the Video2USB™ device and is actively sending a signal.
- Unplug any video sources from the Video2USB™ that you are not currently recording from.
- Verify that the OBS software is configured with the correct input sources, following the Quick Start Guide precisely.
- Remember, audio is not monitored live but is captured in the recording/stream.
- Q3: My recording is jerky/not smooth, or the audio/video is out of sync.
- Please refer to Step #12 (page 14) in the Quick Start Guide for adjusting recording settings.
- Q4: How do I change the format of the recorded video files?
- In the OBS software, click
[Settings]
