Instruction for Functions
1. Cable Continuity Test
Modes: Remote and Switch.
- Remote: Tests continuity, cross, and short conditions.
- Switch: Tests continuity only.
Procedure (Remote Mode): Insert cable ends into the 'CONT' port of the transmitter and the receiver. Select 'Remote' mode, turn to 'Start', and press 'OK'. Results displayed as 'Good', 'Cable Cross', 'Short Circuit', or 'Cable Open'.
2. Cable Tracking
Modes: Digital Mode / Analog Mode. Switch using UP/Down buttons.
- Digital Mode: Recommended for tracking cables with load (e.g., 1000M switches) due to anti-interference.
- Analog Mode: Recommended for tracking cables without load, offering less noise.
Transmitter: Defaults to Digital Mode. Switch modes with UP/Down buttons.
Receiver: Signal indicator stays on for Digital Mode; blinks for Analog Mode.
Remarks: Transmitter and receiver must be in the same mode. The signal sensitivity switch adjusts receiver sensitivity (max depth 10cm, 600m without load, 1000m with load). The receiver indicator turns purple when a signal is detected; darker purple indicates a stronger signal.
3. Port Flash
Connect the device to a switch. The green dot on the screen flashes at the same frequency as the port indicator on the switch.
4. Cable Length Measurement
Insert one end into the Length port. Select cable type (CAT5/CAT6) and unit (Meter/Yard/Feet) using 'OK'. Press 'OK' again to measure. Range: 5~200m (±3m). Results shown in pin pairs. For broken cables, if the break is close to the open end (less than 3% of total length), the device may show the full length. Measure from the other end in such cases.
5. PoE Test
Connect to a PoE switch and press 'OK'. The result shows which pins are providing power, power voltage, PoE standard (IEEE 802.3at/af/bt), power class (1-8), and power supply type (Mid-span/End Span/AT-4 pairs).
6. Ping Test
Recommended to set IPV4 first. Access 'Set IP' to configure local IP, subnet mask, and gateway. Save settings to return to Ping scan functions.
7. IP Scan
Use UP/Down to select 'Set IP' to configure local IP, subnet mask, and gateway. Save settings to use IP scan functions.
8. Switch Test
The test result displays the switch standard (10M/100M/1000M) and duplex mode.
Note: After testing, repeat steps for new ports to ensure accuracy.
9. Set
Allows users to configure backlight level, backlight time, auto-off settings, default settings, and check device information.
