Connecting Your Base Station
1. Select a Location
Place the Base Station near an electrical outlet, ideally in a central area of your home such as the living room, family room, or kitchen.
2. Plug in the Power Cord
Connect the power cord to the Base Station and then to an electrical outlet. Please Note: Do not plug into an outlet controlled by a light switch to avoid accidental power-offs. Keep the area around the Base Station clear of objects and away from noisy appliances.
2. Turn On Your Base Station
Use the ON/OFF switch on the back. The Emergency and Reset buttons should illuminate within 10 seconds. If setup is correct, the Base Station will announce "system ready" within 60 seconds. Verify cellular network connection via green signal strength bars. Adjust volume using the '+' and '-' icons if needed.
3. Testing Your System
To test on battery backup: Unplug the AC power. Touch and hold the TEST icon (?) until you hear "user auto-test" (approx. 6 seconds). Follow prompts to press the Emergency Button or Pendant. The Base Station will announce "test call sent to Emergency Response Center." A successful test will be confirmed with "thank you for testing your device." A failed test will announce "user auto-test failed." Contact Technical Support if needed. Remember to plug the power back into the AC outlet after testing.

Home Guardian FAQs
How do I call for help?
Press your Neck Pendant, Wrist Button, or the red Emergency Button (?) on your Base Station.
What happens if I push the button but I can't speak?
If you are unable to speak or be heard, it will be assumed an emergency. Emergency Response will be notified on your behalf, along with your personal contacts.
If I accidentally set off the alarm, what do I do?
Notify the Emergency Operator when they respond that it is a "false alarm." The operator will disconnect, and no further action will be taken.
How will Emergency Response get into my home?
Rescue personnel follow procedures that may include authorized entry. It is recommended to purchase a "lock box" for your house key. The lock box code can be stored on your account for emergency personnel. Contact Customer Service if you have your own lock box.
How far from the Base Station do Help Buttons work?
Help Buttons are designed to work at an approximate range of 1400 feet from the Base Station, depending on your home's size and construction.
What happens if I push my Help Button but cannot get to the Base Station?
Stay where you are. An Emergency Operator will attempt to communicate via your Base Station. If you are not heard, an emergency will be assumed and Emergency Response notified.
Why is the Emergency Operator having trouble understanding me?
The Base Station microphone is sensitive and picks up surrounding noises. Move to a quieter area to improve call quality.
Why is my Help Button not activating my Base Station?
Press the Emergency Button firmly in the center. A small red light should flash. Check if the Help Button is within range of the Base Station. For persistent issues, call Technical Support.
What if I move to a different home, or my personal information has changed?
Please contact Customer Service with any changes to your personal information (address, phone number). Call one week before moving to confirm service availability.
What if I spend part of the year in another home?
