Restring Your LAVA ME
Replace strings when they become old or worn out.
- Loosen and Remove Old Strings: Turn the tuners to loosen the strings and remove them from the tuning posts. Pull out the bridge pins and remove the strings from the bridge holes. If strings are difficult to remove, push them into the soundbox and pull them out from the soundhole.
- Insert New Strings: Put the ball end of the new string into a bridge hole, then insert the bridge pin with its groove over the string. Push the bridge pin in and gently pull the string to ensure it's locked.
- Tune and Tighten: Pass the other end of the string through the tuning post hole and tighten by turning the tuner. Ensure the string is inserted correctly for accurate tuning.
Adjust the Truss Rod of Your LAVA ME
Adjust the truss rod if the guitar neck becomes warped or bowed.
- Loosen Strings: Turn the tuners to loosen the strings.
- Access Truss Rod: Remove the magnetic truss rod cover to locate the hidden truss rod.
- Adjust Truss Rod: Use a hex wrench to adjust the truss rod. Keep the rotation angle under 30 degrees per turn.
- Replace Cover: Put the magnetic truss rod cover back into place and press firmly.
When to adjust the truss rod:
- If fret buzz occurs even with normal string tension.
- If fingers feel tired easily when pressing strings.
- If string tension changes significantly after replacing strings.
Fine Tune Your LAVA ME
Adjust the string action according to your preference.
- Loosen Strings: Loosen the strings until the nut and saddle can be removed easily.
- Polish Saddle: Gently polish the saddle bottom with 800-grit sandpaper.
