Installation
Note: This guide serves only as a general installation guide. Please refer to your local state and/or local plumbing regulations for details pertaining to your systems design, installation and maintenance requirements.
- Excavate hole large enough to accommodate basin, backfill material and inlet piping.
- Add 4 to 6 inches of clean backfill material or concrete to the bottom of the hole, making sure that it is level, compacted and smooth.
- Place the basin in the hole and make sure that it is level.
- Carefully backfill with naturally rounded gravel or stone (larger than 3/8 in. and smaller than 3/4 in. diameter) around the periphery of the basin.
- Connect all piping as required.
- Finish floor around the basin as required.
Diagram Description
The diagram illustrates the proper installation of the sewage pump basin. It shows the basin positioned within an excavated hole. The top of the basin is level with the "FINISHED FLOOR". The basin is surrounded by "BACKFILL" material, which is placed on top of a "COMPACTED SUB-BASE OR CONCRETE PAD" at the bottom. An "INLET PIPE" enters the side of the basin through a "HUB". The top of the basin features a "VENT FLANGE" with an "ELECTRIC CORD GROMMET" for the pump's power cord, and a "DISCHARGE FLANGE" for the discharge pipe.
