Functions
The enclosure has the following labeled parts:
- 1. USB4 Host Port (40Gbps): The port for connecting to the host device.
- 2. LED Indicator: Shows the status of the enclosure.
- 3. Screw: Used to secure the SSD.
- 4. Screwdriver: Tool for inserting and removing screws.
- 5. Thermal Pad: Helps dissipate heat from the SSD.
- 6. M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure (2230/2242/2260/2280)(up to 8TB max): The main body of the enclosure designed to house M.2 NVMe SSDs.
- 7. Cable Compartment: Storage for cables.
- 8. USB4 Host Cable (15cm): The included cable for connecting to the host.
- 9. Twist-off SSD Cover: The removable cover of the enclosure.
Plug & Play
The device is ready to use upon connection.
How to Unlock/Lock the Twist-off SSD Cover
To Unlock:
- Hold the cover and use the finger grooves to twist it clockwise.
- Lift the cover off to access the SSD compartment.
To Lock:
- Carefully align the triangle (arrow) on the cover with the notch on the enclosure. Improper alignment may cause the cover to get stuck.
- Insert the clips on the cover into the enclosure.
- Twist the cover counterclockwise using the finger grooves until it clicks into place.
SSD Installation
Follow these steps to install your M.2 NVMe SSD:
- Remove plastic from one side of the thermal pad. Align and apply sticky side to the enclosure.
- Remove top plastic before installing SSD.
- Insert an M.2 NVMe SSD at a 30° angle.
- Use included screw and screwdriver to lock SSD into place.
Note: If using a brand new SSD, format drive to support host device operating system. Compatible with M.2 NVMe SSD Drive.
Important Notes
- Not compatible with SATA SSDs.
- Not compatible with SSDs with heat-sinks.
- Properly eject SSD prior to disconnecting enclosure from host device. Failure to do so can result in corrupted or lost files.
- Ensure enclosure is not connected to power before removing or installing SSD.
- Please use the included USB4 cable for optimal performance. If a longer cable is needed, ensure it is USB4 or Thunderbolt 5/4 with 40Gbps bandwidth to avoid slower speeds.
