Casio Module No. 3197
Models: W-S200, LW-S200
Important Information First
Water Resistance
For all categories of watches, the following are prohibited:
- Pressing buttons underwater.
- Moving the watch hands underwater.
- Unscrewing the crown underwater.
If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it completely. Do not wear watches with leather straps while swimming. Avoid prolonged contact of leather straps with water.
Watches are classified by water resistance ratings (from I to V). Check your watch's rating using the table below to determine its proper usage.
Rating | Case Marking | Splashes, Rain, Light Sweat | Swimming, Light Washing | Scuba Diving, Snorkeling | Diving with Aqualung |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | - | No | No | No | No |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200 M WATER RESISTANT 300 M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes:
- Rating I: Watches are not protected from water. Avoid any moisture.
- Rating II WR (Water Resistant) means the model is waterproof according to ISO 2281. Brief contact with water will not cause any problems.
- Rating III (5 Bar / 50 meters) watches can withstand the specified water pressure and can be used while showering and for brief swimming.
- Rating IV (10 Bar / 100 meters) watches can be used during normal swimming and snorkeling.
- Rating V (20 Bar / 200 meters) watches can be used for scuba diving (excluding depths requiring helium-oxygen mixtures).
Caring for Your Watch
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover yourself.
- The replacement of the gasket, which protects the watch from water and dust, should be done every 2-3 years.
- If moisture gets inside the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest dealer or a CASIO distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- Although the watch is designed for active daily use, wear it carefully and avoid drops.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. You should be able to fit a finger between your wrist and the strap.
- For cleaning the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a mild neutral detergent solution. Never use easily evaporating agents (e.g., gasoline, solvents, spray cleaners, etc.).
- When not using your watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid exposure to gasoline, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions caused by these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and the watch's finish.
- Some watch models feature silk-screened graphics on the strap. Be careful when cleaning these straps to avoid damaging the designs.
For watches with plastic straps:
- You may find a white powdery substance on the strap. This substance is not harmful to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
- Exposure of the plastic strap to sweat or moisture, or storing it in high humidity conditions, can cause damage, tearing, or cracking of the strap. To ensure a long service life for the plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For watches with fluorescent cases and straps:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent color to gradually fade. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with any other wet surface can cause the fluorescent color to discolor. Check if moisture has been removed from the fluorescent surface and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a surface with applied fluorescent paint against another surface may transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.
When using the product in conditions of rapid temperature changes, slight condensation may form on the inside of the glass. This phenomenon is due to the laws of physics and is not a defect.
CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not responsible for any damage that may occur during the use of this watch and does not accept any claims from third parties.
