1. Description
PATURA solar installations are designed for maintenance-free operation of the electric fence energiser from spring through to autumn. If the energiser is switched down to a lower power level, this maintenance-free operation can be continued throughout the winter.
The Safety Box XL can accommodate energisers with output energies of up to 15 J (P 6000), making it particularly suitable for long fences with heavy vegetation. With extra-large solar panels and a 200 Ah battery, maintenance-free operation from spring to autumn is possible.
Internal Dimensions: Width = 58 cm, Height = 56 cm, Depth = 30 cm

3. Application Information:
- Select a suitable place where the sunlight is as constant as possible.
- Orient the panel due south, at a 45° horizontal angle for year-round operation. Adjust the angle to be steeper in winter and flatter in summer.
- If there is insufficient sunlight, it may be necessary to recharge the battery and operate the energiser at a lower power level, especially in spring and autumn.
- Avoid shade on the solar panel, as it reduces power output significantly.
- The solar panel needs to be cleaned regularly.
Important: Please refer to the separately enclosed operating instructions for your specific energiser.
4. Installation Instructions:
- Mounting the Stabilisation Stand and Earth Stake:
A. Drive the supplied stabilisation stand (7) into the ground at the desired position where the earth stake (6) will be located.
B. Insert the earth stake (6) through the sleeve of the stabilisation stand (7) and drive it completely into the ground. - Mounting the Safety Box XL:
Mount the Safety Box XL (1) with the pre-assembled energiser onto the earth stake (6). Secure it using the provided M10 x 60 screws and M10 nuts. - Mounting the Solar Panel Bracket:
A. Attach the cross braces (5) to the mounting bracket top parts (3) using 8x M6 x 20 screws and 8x M6 washers.
B. Attach the assembled bracket with the cross braces (5) to the back of the Solar Panel (2) and fix it using 4x M8 x 30 screws and 4x M8 washers. - Mounting the Solar Panel to the Safety Box XL:
A. Drill four holes, approximately 7mm in diameter, at the marked (punch-marked) positions on the top side of the Safety Box (1).
B. Attach the mounting bracket bottom parts (4) to the provided holes on the Safety Box XL (1) using 4x M6 x 30 screws, 4x M6 washers, and 4x spacer sleeves. Screw the mounting brackets firmly to the box.
C. Mount the prepared Solar Panel (2) onto the mounting brackets (4) on the Safety Box XL (1) using 4x M6 x 100 screws and 4x M6 washers.
D. Connect the plug-in connectors together. - Connecting to the Battery:
Connect the charge controller and the energiser to the battery (1). Observe correct polarity. - Connecting to the Electric Fence:
Connect the Safety Box XL (1) to your electric fence using the supplied fence connecting cable. - Securing the Box:
Lock the box with the insulated key. The box is now live and under high voltage.
Product Features:
- Sturdy handles on both sides.
- Charge controller for a long battery life.
- The Safety Box XL is available with a 100 W or 200 W solar panel.
