I. Safety Instructions
Important Safety Information:
- Electric bikes are subject to local laws and policies; observe these when driving the Y10.
- Scooters are for leisure. Practice riding skills before mastering them. Engwe is not liable for injuries or damage due to inexperience or failure to follow instructions.
- Before lending your scooter, ensure the borrower has read the manual, watched the video, and received a beginner's guide. Assist new riders until they are proficient. Ensure all riders wear helmets and protective gear.
- Following tips and warnings reduces risks but does not eliminate them. Risks include injury or death from loss of control, collisions, and falls. Scooters are suitable for hard surfaces in relatively enclosed road environments (e.g., parks). Avoid areas with obstacles. Be alert and slow down in unfamiliar environments.
- Read and follow all 'Caution' and 'Warning' notices. Do not exceed the speed limit or ride on motorways.
- For your first ride, avoid areas with children, pedestrians, pets, vehicles, or bicycles.
- Respect pedestrians. Avoid frightening them, especially the elderly, children, disabled, and pregnant women. Alert pedestrians when approaching from behind and slow down when overtaking. Obey local traffic laws.
- In regions without specific electric scooter laws, strictly adhere to these safety requirements. Engwe is not liable for property damage, personal injury, or legal disputes arising from user violations.
- Before riding, check for loose or damaged parts. If unusual noise occurs, stop using and consult your point of purchase or the manufacturer.
- Observe road surfaces; avoid obstacles and uneven ground (wet, sand, rocky, ice).
- Suitable for ages 14-60 and weights up to 120kg.
- Do not charge if the charging port, charger, or power outlet is wet.
- Use only the original Engwe charger.
- Use only Engwe approved parts and accessories. Do not modify the scooter, as this may cause injury and void the warranty.
- Children should not use scooters or play with parts.
- Park on a flat, firm surface. If parking on a slope, the stand must face downhill. Prevent the scooter from rolling by ensuring the kickstand is stable. Avoid parking in busy areas; park against a wall if possible.
- Regular maintenance is recommended for a better driving experience.
- Read the user manual before charging.
- Do not touch brake parts, as this may cause injury.
Additional Safety Tips:
- Not suitable for individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs, those unable to perform strenuous exercise, those with balance issues, those exceeding the weight limit, or pregnant women.
- Minors require adult supervision.
- Comply with local laws and regulations. Do not ride where prohibited.
- Ensure you can see the area in front of you and be seen by others.
- Do not ride in snow, rain, slippery, muddy, or icy conditions. Do not ride over obstacles (sand, rocks, barricades) as this may cause loss of balance or grip.
- Damage from water ingress is not covered by warranty.
- Do not drive at night.
- Do not accelerate or decelerate suddenly. Do not exceed the speed limit to avoid loss of control.
