- For your safety... do not store or use combustible materials, gasoline or other flammable vapors or liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance. If you are getting rid of an old product with refrigerants, check with the company handling disposal about what to do.
- These R410A heat pump systems require contractors and technicians use tools, equipment and safety standards approved for use with this refrigerant. DO NOT use equipment certified for R22 refrigerant only.
Keep batteries away from children.
- This remote controller contains batteries. If a new or used battery is swallowed or enters the body, it can cause severe internal burns and can lead to death in as little as 2 hours. Always completely secure the battery compartment. If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product, remove the batteries, and keep it away from children.
- If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
- The cells shall be disposed of properly, including keeping them away from children.

REMOTE CONTROL FEATURES AND SETTINGS
Remote Control Layout
The remote control is a rectangular device with a display screen at the top. Below the screen are various buttons:
- 1. Power Button: Starts or stops the unit.
- 2. COOL Button: Operates the unit in cooling mode. When FAN is AUTO, the heat pump automatically adjusts fan speed. The snowflake icon ❄️ is displayed.
- 3. HEAT Button: Operates the unit in heating mode, providing warm air. When FAN is AUTO, the heat pump automatically adjusts fan speed. The sun icon ☀️ is displayed.
- 4. Temperature +/- Buttons: Increase or decrease the temperature setting. The operating range is 60°F-86°F (16°C-30°C).
- 5. FAN SPEED Button: Cycles through fan speed settings (LOW, MED, HI, AUTO).
- 6. DRY Button: Reduces humidity. In DRY mode, if room temperature is lower than the set temperature +2°F, the unit runs intermittently at LOW speed. The water drop icon ? is displayed.
- 7. FAN MODE Button: Circulates air only; no temperature adjustment. Use the fan speed button (5) to adjust speed from Auto, Low, Medium to High. Turbo and Quiet are not available.
- 8. TURBO Button: Provides the fastest airflow in Heating or Cooling modes. Displays the TURBO icon [↑]. Pressing again or using the FAN SPEED button turns TURBO off.
- 9. Quiet Button: Sets the fan to the lowest speed. Displays the QUIET icon [↓]. Pressing again or using the FAN SPEED button turns QUIET off.
- 10. Louver UP/DOWN Button: Adjusts the position of the horizontal airflow louvers.
- 11. Louver SIDE/SIDE Button (select models): Adjusts the position of the vertical airflow louvers.
- 12. SLEEP Button: Automatically adjusts the set temperature for a comfortable sleeping environment. Available in COOL, HEAT, and AUTO modes. Exits if pressed again, unit is turned off, or power is disconnected. If no other command is chosen, the unit shuts off after 8 hours. Fan speed can be adjusted during SLEEP.
- 13. Fahrenheit/Celsius Button: Toggles temperature display between Fahrenheit and Celsius.
- 14. EXTRA FUNCTION Button: Accesses additional operations. Press CONFIRM/CANCEL to select. Exits after 10 seconds of inactivity. Includes options like Refresh Air (not available), A-B selection (for multiple units), Auto Mode, Louver Lock (Upper/Lower), Timer ON/OFF, and 50°F Heating.
- 15. Confirm/Cancel Button: Saves and exits EXTRA FUNCTION selections.
- 16. HEALTH Button: Feature is not available.
- 17. LOCK Button: Locks buttons and LCD display.
- 18. LIGHT Button: Toggles display between set temperature, room temperature, or turns off the display.
- 19. RESET Button: Resets the remote control if it malfunctions.
Sleep Function Logic Description
The SLEEP function adjusts temperature settings for comfort. The logic is as follows:
- COOL or DRY modes: After 1 hour, the temperature setting increases by 1°F. After 7 hours, it increases by another 1°F. The unit turns off after 8 hours.
- HEAT mode: After 1 hour, the temperature setting decreases by 2°F. After 7 hours, it decreases by another 2°F. The unit turns off after 8 hours.
EMERGENCY OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
Emergency Operation
Use this function only when the remote control is defective or lost. Pressing the emergency operation switch causes the unit to beep once. The unit will run automatically in the following modes:
- Above 73°F room temperature: 79°F designated temperature, AUTO mode, COOL operation.
- Below 73°F room temperature: 73°F designated temperature, AUTO mode, HEAT operation.
During emergency operation, temperature or fan speed cannot be changed, nor can Timer or Dry modes be used.
Inserting the Batteries
1. Remove the battery cover. 2. Insert 2 AAA batteries, observing polarity. 3. Reinstall the battery cover.
NOTE: The remote control should be less than 23 feet from the receiver without obstructions. Weak display or reduced range may indicate the need for battery replacement. Malfunctions can sometimes be corrected by removing and reinstalling batteries.
Optimizing Performance
Close doors and windows during operation: This helps maintain the desired room temperature and improves efficiency.
Do not block the air inlet or outlet: Ensure unobstructed airflow for proper unit function.
Prevent direct sunlight: During cooling operation, use curtains or blinds to block direct sunlight for better efficiency.
Cleaning the Front Cover
1. Open the front cover by pulling it upward.
2. Remove the filter: Gently push the filter's center tab upward to release it from the stopper, then remove the filter downwards.
3. Clean the filter: Use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust, or wash with water. Dry the filter completely.
4. Attach the filter: Ensure the "FRONT" label faces outward and the filter is securely attached behind the holding tabs. Improper attachment may reduce efficiency.
5. Close the front cover.
TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

Problem | Cause and Solution |
---|---|
Normal Performance Inspection: The system does not restart immediately. | When the unit is stopped, it will not restart again for 3 minutes to protect the system. When electricity is disconnected then reconnected, the protection circuit will be active for 3 minutes to protect the heat pump. |
Noise is heard | During unit operation or a sudden stop, a swishing or gurgling noise may be heard (first 2-3 minutes after start-up). This noise is generated by refrigerant flowing in the system. A cracking noise may be heard due to casing expansion/shrinking from temperature changes. A loud airflow noise might indicate a dirty air filter. |
Odors | The system circulates odors lingering in the airstream (e.g., furniture, paint, cigarettes). |
Mist or steam is blowing out | During COOL or DRY mode, the indoor unit may blow out mist or steam due to sudden cooling of the indoor air. |
In DRY mode, fan speed cannot be changed | In DRY mode, when room temperature is lower than the set temperature by 2°F, the unit runs intermittently at LOW speed regardless of FAN setting. |
