Function
The PondECO Plus E is an electronic pond pump for use with filters, skimmers, waterfalls, and water ornaments.
Run Dry Protection
The pump is equipped with a dry-running safety device, crucial for inline use. If there is no water flow for 10 seconds, the pump will automatically stop and restart after 10 seconds. This cycle repeats 5 times. If water flow is still absent, the pump stops completely. To restart, ensure water supply is restored, unplug the device for 60 seconds, and plug it back in.
Thermal Overload Protection
The pump has thermal overload protection. If the motor overheats, the pump switches off automatically. After a cooling down period of 15 to 20 minutes, it will automatically switch on again. To prevent damage, investigate and resolve the cause of overheating. Damage caused by overheating is not covered by the warranty.
Installation
Pond Installation
The PondECO E pump is suitable for pond hoses with diameters of 25, 32, 40 mm, or 40, 50 mm. Cut the multi-step hose connector to the desired diameter and fasten it onto the pump. Connect the pond hose to the connector using a hose clamp (not included).
Preferably install the pump in the deepest part of the pond (max. 2-metre depth), or at least 20 cm below the water surface. Ensure the pump stands horizontally and firmly on a flat surface to prevent it from falling over. Plug the pump into the socket and ensure there is a drip loop in the cord. Make sure no one can trip over the cord and that the cord cannot be damaged.
Inline Installation
For inline use, the pump section must be removed from the housing. Open the housing by pressing the latches at the front and back to release the upper shell. Remove the bracket over the pump by unscrewing the 2 screws and take out the pump. The inlet is at the front (hose connector not supplied), and the outlet is at the top (for the supplied hose connector).
Cut the hose connectors to the desired diameter and fasten them to the pump. Connect the pond hoses to the hose connectors using hose clamps (not included). Install the pump horizontally and firmly on a flat surface outside the pond. Ensure it cannot tip over; secure with screws if necessary. Plug the pump into the socket and ensure there is a drip loop in the cord. Make sure no one can trip over the cord and that the cord cannot be damaged.
Maintenance
The pump should be cleaned regularly (minimum twice a year) for trouble-free operation. Scale deposits can cause the pump to seize. Failures due to dirty pumps or scale build-up caused by improper maintenance are not covered by warranty.
Always disconnect the power supply before performing any maintenance!
- Disconnect the pump from the pond hose and rinse the housing under a tap or garden hose.
- For proper cleaning and descaling, use SuperFish Pump & UVC Clean (Art. 07070500), available from your dealer. Mix the cleaner with clean tap water in a large bucket according to bottle instructions. Immerse the pump for 24 hours.
- Remove the pump from the bucket and let it drain before disassembling.
- Open the housing by pressing the latches at the front and back. Remove the bracket over the pump by unscrewing 2 screws.
- Dismantle the rotor housing by loosening the 4 screws on the front of the pump and remove the rotor.
- Brush and clean all parts and the housing thoroughly. Rinse with clean tap water and reassemble.
- Depending on usage, the rotor and rotor housing may wear out or get damaged; this is normal. Replacement parts are available from your dealer.
- NOTICE! During frost periods, remove the pump from the pond. Clean, dry, and store the pump frost-free.
Recycling
This symbol indicates that this product should not be disposed of with normal household waste. It must be handed in at an official collection centre (e.g., HWRC) or returned to the dealer when purchasing a similar new product. Follow your country's applicable rules for separate collection of electrical and electronic products. Separate collection and recycling are better for the environment, public health, and waste reduction.
Warranty
A 2-year manufacturer's warranty covers material and construction defects. Devices must be returned complete with all components and an official proof of purchase confirming the purchase date for any warranty claims. Incomplete devices or those without proof of purchase are not eligible. After receipt and inspection, SuperFish will determine if the device will be repaired or replaced. The remaining warranty period applies to repaired or replaced devices. Carefully read installation, use, and maintenance instructions. Damage due to incorrect use, contamination, lack of cleaning, wear and damage to the rotor, or damage to the cord are not covered by the warranty.
Always keep the proof of purchase; without it, the warranty is void!
Pick-up & Replace Warranty
This PondECO Plus E/RC pump includes a unique 2-year warranty with a 48-hour on-site Pick-up and Replace service. In case of a defect, the pump is picked up within 48 hours and immediately replaced free of charge with a new one (Monday-Friday, no weekend deliveries). This is subject to proper use and maintenance (regularly descaled and cleaned, cord and rotor not damaged).
To qualify for the 48-hour Pick-Up & Replace Warranty, you must register within 1 month of purchase by filling out the enclosed registration form and returning it with a copy of the purchase receipt to Aquadistri. Failure to register within the specified period means the 48-hour warranty will not apply, and the standard warranty will be valid. For warranty claims, contact your dealer.
The Pick-Up & Replace Warranty is applicable only in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. For residents of other countries, the normal warranty applies, requiring contact with the dealer where the pump was purchased.
