Adding Camera to App
Bring the camera and your smartphone within 30-100 cm of the router and connect to Wi-Fi.
Note: The camera only operates with 2.4G Wi-Fi and does not support 5G Wi-Fi.
Open the CloudEdge App, tap the '+' icon, and select "Battery Camera".
Follow the prompts to confirm the camera is active (indicator light turns red and flashes slowly).
Select your 2.4GHz WiFi SSID, enter the password, and tap "Next".
Align the QR code with the camera lens at a distance of approximately 15 cm (5.9 inches) until the QR code is recognized. When you hear the "Bugu" sound, tap "OK".
After hearing the sound and tapping "OK", the camera will start Wi-Fi connection. Upon completion, the app will navigate to the "Searching for Devices" page. You can then edit the camera name, tap "Done" to switch to your device list, and view the real-time video.
Device Menu

PIR Detection Distance Adjustment
Download the "CloudEdge" app from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
App interface screenshots show the app interface for adjusting PIR sensitivity.
PIR Sensitivity Table
Sensitivity | Detection Range (for motion/living beings) |
Low | Up to 4m |
Medium | Up to 6m |
High | Up to 8m |
Note: Higher sensitivity increases detection distance but may lead to more false alarms. For outdoor camera placement, it is recommended to set the sensitivity level to "Low" or "Medium".
Alarm Notification and Playback
The PIR sensor triggers alarm push notifications. When the PIR sensor detects human motion, the app will send an alarm message. Videos are recorded to a Micro SD card, allowing you to play them back anytime, anywhere via the CloudEdge App.
When the PIR sensor detects human motion:
- Enable notifications for the CloudEdge app in your phone's settings and adjust the phone's volume.
- Allow push notifications for alert messages in your phone's settings for the CloudEdge app.
- Photos and videos are recorded to the Micro SD card (insert the Micro SD card).
Battery
The camera has a built-in 6000 mAh 18650 battery. Theoretically, it can be used for 60-90 days with 15 activations per day and 10 minutes of video playback daily.
Note: Battery life varies depending on camera usage. More frequent operation consumes battery faster.
If the battery level drops below 20%, the app will send an alarm message indicating that charging is required.
You can charge the camera with a DC 5V / 1A power adapter, remove the two built-in 18650 batteries for separate charging, or replace them with new batteries.
Note: It is recommended to use compatible batteries for replacement.
If battery consumption is too fast, it may be due to frequent camera activations. It is recommended to lower the "Detection Alarm" sensitivity or turn it off periodically.
Camera Placement and False Alarm Reduction
To reduce false alarms, please consider the following:
- Avoid placing the camera in direct sunlight or areas with bright lighting.
- Do not place the camera in locations where vehicles frequently move. Test results show the optimal distance between the camera and a vehicle is 15 meters.
- Keep the camera away from power outlets, air conditioning vents, humidifier outlets, and projector heat vents.
- Do not point the camera at a mirror.
- To avoid wireless interference from Wi-Fi routers and phones, maintain a distance of at least 1 meter from any wireless devices.
When installing the camera, it is recommended to position the PIR sensor perpendicular to the direction of motion. If the sensor is not perpendicular, motion may not be detected. It is recommended to have an angle of 10 degrees or more between the PIR sensor and the detected object.
Diagram illustrating PIR sensor placement: Recommended setup shows the PIR sensor positioned to detect motion across a path, not directly at the object's path. The angle is indicated as >10°. The optimal viewing distance is 2-10m.
Troubleshooting
No. | Problem | Solution |

4 | No alarm image / People moving too fast | 1) The camera takes time to boot up, and people move too quickly. 2) Some objects around 36°C are moving in the image. |
5 | No alarm received | Enable notifications in the CloudEdge app. |
6 | Alarm video not recorded | Insert the TF card. |
7 | Offline device | Check if the network is good. |
8 | Video playback is delayed | Check the WiFi network. Ensure the distance between the camera and router is not too far. |
9 | Battery life is short | The camera has been activated many times. Do not place it by the roadside or expose it to sunlight. |
10 | Camera cannot be activated after battery replacement | 1) Check the positive and negative terminals of the battery. 2) Check if the battery is normal. |
