Introduction
The Aeotec Cam 360 is designed to wirelessly monitor your home using WiFi communication through the SmartThings app. It is powered by Aeotec WiFi technology.

Get Familiar with Your Aeotec Cam 360
The Aeotec Cam 360 is a compact, white, dome-shaped camera. Key components include:
- Status Indicator: An LED light that shows the camera's operational status.
- Lens: The primary camera lens for capturing video.
- MIC: Built-in microphone for audio recording.
- Speaker: For audio output, such as alerts or two-way communication.
- Micro-USB Charging Port: Used for powering the device.
- Reset Button: A button used for factory resetting the device.

Important Safety Use Information
- For indoor use only.
- Avoid installing in wet or humid places.
- Avoid installing in high temperature environments, such as near radiators, stoves, or other heat sources.
- Avoid installing on appliances that generate vibration, such as refrigerators or air conditioners.
- Avoid installing near devices that emit strong radio waves, as this may degrade Wi-Fi performance.
- This product can be placed on a flat surface, such as a desk or table.
- This product can be mounted on a wall or ceiling with supporting installation accessories.
- This product does not rotate its head beyond its allowed range (-180° to +180°).
Install Your Aeotec Cam 360
The Aeotec Cam 360 can be positioned on a flat surface or mounted on a wall or ceiling using appropriate accessories. The camera head can rotate approximately 180 degrees horizontally and 180 degrees vertically.
Pair to SmartThings App
Before proceeding, ensure your phone is connected to the WiFi network where the device will be used, and download the SmartThings App.
- SmartThings is available for Android devices (Android 8 or higher, with at least 2GB RAM). Download from Google Play Store.
- For iOS devices, iOS 11 or later is required. Download from Apple App Store.
Pairing Through QR Code
- Open the SmartThings app.
- Tap the "Add" button (represented by a '+' icon).
- Tap "Device".
- Select "Scan QR code".
- Scan the QR code located on the Aeotec Cam 360.
- Plug the Cam 360 into any outlet within range of your WiFi Router.
- Once SmartThings discovers the device, choose its Room and Location.
- Tap "Next".
- Select your WiFi Network for Aeotec Cam 360 and enter the security password.
Pairing Through Catalog
- Open the SmartThings app.
- Tap the "Add" button (represented by a '+' icon).
- Tap "Device".
- Choose Brand "Aeotec".
- Select "Camera".
- Tap "Start", then plug your Aeotec Cam 360 within range of your WiFi Router.
- Scan the QR code on Aeotec Cam 360.
- Once SmartThings discovers the device, choose its Room and Location.
- Tap "Next".
- Select your WiFi Network for Aeotec Cam 360 and enter the security password.
If you encounter issues during QR code scanning, you can select "Add Device Manually" and input the Aeotec Cam 360 Serial Number.
The app interface shows a "Successfully connected" screen, indicating the device is linked to "My home - Living room" and is "Connected".
Other Functions
Access Settings of Cam 360
The Aeotec Cam 360 offers various settings to customize its operation. Accessing the settings menu allows control over specific features.
- Select "Cam 360" in the SmartThings app.
- Tap the "More Options" icon (a [three-dots-icon]) located in the top right corner.
- Tap "Settings".
Within the settings, you can control:
- HDR
- Night Vision
- Wide angle view
- Image flip
- Audio sensitivity
- Speaker volume
- Status light
- Camera off location
Waypoint Monitoring
Waypoint monitoring enables your camera to check specific locations and monitor them for movement, rather than just looking in a single direction.
- Select "Cam 360" in SmartThings.
- Tap "More Options" (a [three-dots-icon]) located top right corner.
- Tap "Settings".
- Select "Waypoint Monitoring".
Factory Reset
If you experience issues connecting the Cam 360 to the SmartThings app, a factory reset can resolve the problem. Follow these steps:
- Hold the reset button located on the back of the Cam 360 for 3 seconds.
- Release the reset button when the LED begins blinking blue.
- The speaker will announce, "The camera is booting, please wait," confirming the factory reset.
- Once the LED begins blinking amber, the Cam 360 is factory reset and ready for pairing.
WiFi Signal Strength
The SmartThings app allows you to check the signal strength between your WiFi router and the Aeotec Cam 360. This is useful if your Cam 360 becomes unavailable.
- Select "Cam 360" in SmartThings.
- Tap "More Options" (a [three-dots-icon]) located top right corner.
- Tap "Check WiFi signal strength".
Troubleshooting
LED is not blinking amber upon initial power
If the indicator light flashes amber, it signifies that the Cam 360 has successfully booted up. If the light is not flashing amber, perform a factory reset as described in the "Other Functions" section.
Mobile discovery error
If the Cam 360 fails to pair with your mobile device after a factory reset, try these steps:
- Confirm the LED indicator is blinking amber.
- Power cycle the Cam 360: unplug it, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
- Ensure the Cam 360 is within range of your mobile device for onboarding.
- Force close and re-open the SmartThings app.
- Ensure the QR code was scanned correctly.
- Use the manual method for adding the Cam 360 if needed.
Device setup error
If the Cam 360 pairs with your mobile device but fails to onboard, follow these steps for setup finalization:
- Perform a factory reset on the Cam 360.
- Confirm the device is within range of your 2.4GHz WiFi network.
- Ensure WiFi credentials were entered correctly.
- Reboot your WiFi router and verify no special network settings (like mesh networks or firewalls) are interfering with discovery.
Cam 360 offline
If the Cam 360 goes offline after being added to SmartThings, follow these steps:
- Confirm the Cam 360 is receiving power and the LED indicator is on.
- Verify the Cam 360 is within range of your WiFi network by checking its signal strength.
- Reboot the Cam 360 by unplugging and replugging it.
- Reboot your WiFi router and confirm no network changes have occurred.
- Remove the Cam 360 from your SmartThings app, then factory reset and reconnect it.
