Furuno NavNet TZT3 Factory Reset Guide

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for performing a factory reset on your Furuno NavNet TZT3 system. It is crucial to save all valuable user data, such as waypoints, routes, and tracks, before proceeding with a reset. Refer to Chapter 8 of the Operator's Manual or Chapter 6 of the onboard eGuide for instructions on saving user data.

Performing the Factory Reset

Follow these steps to initiate the factory reset:

  1. Turn on the TZT12F/16F/19F and allow it to fully boot up normally.
  2. Navigate to the "HOME" screen, then select "SETTINGS", and finally "INITIAL SETUP".
  3. Select "Service" and enter the password "FURUNO SERVICE" (ensure all caps and include the space).
  4. When the Service menu appears, select "CANCEL" to bypass the factory touch pad and enter the service mode. A prompt may appear stating "This is Entering of Factory Mode. Cancel is Serviceman Mode."
  5. Once in the service menu, select "UTILITY".
  6. From the utility menu, select "Factory Default".
  7. In the reset menu, touch the pull-down arrow and select "Factory Default (Delete All Settings)". A warning will appear: "You are about to clear the unit. Ensure you have backed up any desired user data!!"
  8. Confirm the action by hitting the "RESET" selection.
  9. The system will ask "Are you sure?". Select "OK".
  10. When the system indicates "delete succeeded", select the "OK" button.
  11. Select "EXIT" to close the reset menu.
  12. Select "POWER OFF" from the Service Menu.

The unit is now ready to use. You can restore any settings or waypoints you wish.
