General Settings
Parking Collision Detection — Disabled (default) / Enabled
- Activate the function.
- When you turn off the car engine and turn the key to the lock position, the dashcam will turn off.
- If someone hits your car, the camera will turn on and start recording a 1-minute video, which will be locked and saved in the "Event" folder on the Micro SD card, then it will turn off again.
NOTE: If "Time-lapse parking mode" and "Collision detection parking mode" are activated simultaneously, the dashcam will prioritize activating "Time-lapse parking mode".
Time-lapse Parking Mode — Disabled (default) / Enabled
This function is not visible when connected to the car charger. It can only be activated when the camera is connected to the optional, separately purchased hardwire kit. Time-lapse parking mode allows you to monitor a timelapse of what was happening around your car when you were away.
- After connecting the hardwire kit, activate the function.
- When you turn off the car engine and turn the key to the lock position, the dashcam will stop loop recording and automatically enter time-lapse parking mode.
- If someone hits your car, the camera will exit time-lapse parking mode and start recording a loop recording video (1/3/5 minutes), which will be locked and saved in the "Event" folder on the Micro SD card, then it will go into Time Lapse Parking Mode.
Time-lapse Recording — 2 / 8 / 12 / 24 hours (default)
This function is not visible when connected to the car charger. It can only be activated when the camera is connected to the separately purchased hardwire kit. Time-lapse video is a filming technique that compresses longer videos into shorter ones. The dashcam can enter time-lapse mode when the vehicle is stationary and will compress and save 24 hours of video recording within the time interval you set.
G-Sensor — Off / Low / Medium (default) / High
The G-Sensor is a 3-axis impact gravitational accelerometer designed to detect physical forces and gravity on the camera. While the video is recording, if the G-Sensor is triggered due to physical impact or gravitational force on the camera, the current video file's duration will be locked, so it will NOT be deleted by the loop recording function.

Firmware Update ⬆️
Updating the Firmware
If the camera is unresponsive to your operation and resetting does not help, updating to the latest firmware is useful. Follow these steps to update the firmware:
1. Format Micro SD Card
You can do this by accessing the camera's system settings. (NOTE: Ensure you back up your recordings if you need them before formatting the Micro SD card).
2. Prepare the Firmware File
- Depending on your dashcam's original firmware version, choose the correct firmware to download from the official AZDOME website: www.azdomes.com > Support Downloads > Firmware PG17.
- Copy the firmware file (e.g., FW96565A.bin) directly to the root of the Micro SD card. Do not create any new folders. Ensure the firmware file name is not changed, as the camera will not recognize it otherwise.
3. Insert SD Card and Update
- Insert the Micro SD card into the camera. Keep the camera plugged in and turned off.
- Turn on the camera by pressing the POWER button once. The firmware update process will begin automatically. You will not see any activity on the camera's display during the update, which takes approximately 30-40 seconds. The camera will turn on automatically once the update is complete.
NOTE: Ensure the POWER is NOT disconnected while the firmware is being updated.
4. Post-Update Formatting
You must erase the firmware file by FORMATTING the Micro SD card after the update. Otherwise, the dashcam will attempt to update again on the next startup.
5. Verify Firmware Version
Turn on the dashcam again and check the latest firmware version by accessing System Settings → Version. If you need assistance, please email customer support with the current firmware version installed on your camera.
General Troubleshooting ❓
Camera turns on/off automatically?
- Ensure the output voltage can reach 5V/2.5A and use the provided car charger. Connect the rear camera correctly. To improve stability, the dashcam restarts automatically if it detects different cameras connected.
Power is on, but it cannot be turned on.
If the dashcam is not functioning normally, try restarting it. Use a straightened paperclip to press the "Reset" small hole on the top of the device, near the USB port.
Video playback is choppy.
View videos with a high bitrate. The computer's general configuration may have issues processing data faster. Record videos at a lower resolution and try again. If this does not resolve the issue, please contact us.
Device fails to record videos or take photos.
Connect the card. If the card is not recognized, disconnect and reconnect it, or clean any contamination from the card contacts. If not resolved, format the memory card in the dashcam.
Buttons not working.
Press the Reset button ? to restart the device. If the problem persists, remove the memory card or rear camera to confirm if accessories are affecting its operation.
Why is the rear camera image reversed on the screen?
According to your preference, please set the function named "Mirror rear camera video" to OFF.
Why can't the dashcam receive GPS signal? ?️
- Check the GPS icon status on the screen (it takes 1-3 minutes to get a GPS signal successfully).
- Depending on the vehicle and GPS signal location, it may be blocked due to strong radio interference from other electronic devices in the car, overcast/rainy weather, or mountains, tunnels, tall buildings on both sides of the road, etc.
- Check if the GPS is working by taking the GPS module outside the car. If it works, then there must be strong interference inside the car, e.g., a car with thick sheet metal, an explosion-proof membrane, a metal object, etc.
Time display is incorrect after setting.
Ensure you select the correct time zone when the GPS antenna is connected. Time zone settings that affect the displayed time and date will be applied upon receiving a GPS connection.
Some free time GMT examples are:
- GMT-7: Los Angeles
- GMT-4: New York
- GMT+10: Sydney
Ensure you adjust the time zone setting for standard time versus daylight saving time. If you are unsure of your GMT setting, please search for your city at: www.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/
Dashcam is hot.
This is normal. A dashcam of this caliber is quite high-tech equipment. Capturing high-quality full HD video requires significant computer processing power, and heat is a byproduct. The camera housing itself acts as a heatsink (notice the vents), which is why it may feel warm or hot to the touch. This is normal operation for AZDOME devices.
Video has no sound?
- Ensure the "Audio Recording" icon is enabled.
- Ensure the "Time-lapse parking mode" setting is disabled in the menu.
