Gewiss ChorusSmart KNX Timed Thermostat/Programmer
Model Numbers: GW 10 794H, GW 12 794H, GW 13 794H, GW 14 794H, GW 15 794H
Introduction
The Gewiss ChorusSmart KNX timed thermostat with humidity management is designed for automatic weekly control of humidification/dehumidification systems, integrated with temperature regulation. It can manage heating, cooling, and humidity levels by commanding KNX actuators. The device can operate in autonomous mode or as a master in multi-zone systems.
Key Features
- Operation Modes: Heating and Cooling with independent control algorithms.
- 5 Operating Modes: OFF (anti-freeze/high temperature protection), Economy, Pre-comfort, Comfort, and Automatic.
- Temperature Settings: Up to 4 adjustable temperatures for heating and cooling.
- Control Modes: Master (for multi-zone systems) or Autonomous.
- Control Stages: Single stage or dual stage for systems with high thermal inertia.
- Control Algorithms: 2-point (ON/OFF or 0%/100%), proportional PI (PWM or continuous), and fan coil (max 3 speeds).
- Outputs: 1 relay with NO/NC potential-free contact.
- Inputs: 1 input for potential-free contact (e.g., window contact) and 1 configurable input for an external NTC temperature sensor or potential-free contact.
- Display: Backlit RGB LCD display with ambient light sensor for automatic brightness adjustment.
- Power: Powered via KNX bus, with battery backup (2x AA, not included) for date and time maintenance during bus power failure.
- Humidity Management: Receives humidity data from external KNX sensors, estimates local humidity, and can manage up to 5 humidity thresholds.
- Programming: Weekly programming with independent hourly profiles for each day, 15-minute resolution.
- Scenarios: Memorization and activation of 8 scenes.
Installation Instructions
Important: Installation must be performed by qualified personnel, adhering to current regulations and KNX installation guidelines.
- The timed thermostat consists of a removable front part and a fixed part. For security, the two parts can be secured together with a supplied screw.
- Correct Positioning: Avoid installing the thermostat in niches, near doors/windows, radiators, or air-conditioning units, and protect it from drafts and direct sunlight to ensure accurate ambient temperature readings.
- KNX Installation Recommendations:
- Maximum BUS line length: 350 meters (thermostat to power supply), 700 meters (thermostat to furthest KNX device).
- Avoid ring circuits to prevent unwanted signals and overvoltages.
- Maintain a minimum distance of 4 mm between BUS cables and electrical lines.
- Do not damage the shielding's electrical continuity conductor.
- Unused BUS signal cables and the continuity conductor must not touch live elements or the earth conductor.
- Electrical Connections: Connect the BUS cable (red to '+', black to '-') to the terminal. Up to 4 BUS lines can be connected. Insulate unused wires. Insert the BUS terminal into the device and secure with the cover for minimum separation distance. Connect inputs and output contacts to the screw terminals.
- Battery Installation/Replacement: Separate the front part from the fixed part. Insert two 1.5V AA batteries, observing polarity. Reconnect the front part. Replace all batteries simultaneously with the same type.
User Instructions
- Bus Power Failure: The device will resume its previous state upon restoration of bus power. The internal battery maintains date and time.
- Maintenance: No specific maintenance is required. Clean with a dry cloth if necessary.
- Parameter Setting: Detailed information is available in the Programming Manual on the Gewiss website.
- Programming with ETS: Configuration is done using ETS software. Refer to the Technical Manual on the Gewiss website for details.
