First Time Use: Salt, Rinse Aid and Detergent

Advice Regarding First Time Use:

After installation, remove stoppers and retaining elastic elements from the upper rack.

Filling the Salt Reservoir:

Salt prevents limescale. Use only dishwasher regenerating salt; do not use table salt. Ensure the salt reservoir is never empty and set the water hardness correctly. The salt reservoir is in the lower part of the dishwasher. Fill when the SALT REFILL indicator light is on.

  1. Remove the lower rack and unscrew the reservoir cap.
  2. Fill the salt reservoir with water (first time only).
  3. Position the funnel and fill the salt reservoir to the brim. Some water may leak out.
  4. Remove the funnel and wipe away any salt residue.

Ensure the cap is tightly screwed to prevent detergent entering the container. Add salt before starting a wash cycle.

Setting the Water Hardness:

To ensure the water softener works correctly, set the water hardness according to your local water supplier's information. The factory setting is for average water hardness.

  1. Switch on the appliance (ON/OFF button).
  2. Switch off the appliance (ON/OFF button).
  3. Hold down button P for 5 seconds until a beep is heard.
  4. Switch on the appliance (ON/OFF button). The program indicator light for the current level will flash.
  5. Press button P to select the desired hardness level (refer to the Water Hardness Table).
  6. Switch off the appliance (ON/OFF button).

Water Hardness Table:

LevelGerman degrees (dH)French degrees (fH)
1 Soft0-60-10
2 Medium7-1111-20
3 Average12-1721-30
4 Hard17-3431-60
5 Very hard35-5061-90

Run a program without loading after setting the water hardness. If the salt container is not filled, the water softener and heating element may be damaged.

Filling the Rinse Aid Dispenser:

Rinse aid aids drying. Fill the dispenser (A) when the RINSE AID REFILL indicator light is on.

  1. Open dispenser (B) by pulling the tab.
  2. Fill with rinse aid up to the MAX (110 ml) mark. Clean any spills immediately.
  3. Press the lid down until it clicks.

Never pour rinse aid directly into the tub.

Adjusting the Dosage of Rinse Aid:

If drying results are unsatisfactory, adjust the rinse aid quantity.

  1. Switch on (ON/OFF).
  2. Switch off (ON/OFF).
  3. Press button P three times (a beep will be heard).
  4. Switch on (ON/OFF). The program indicator light for the current level flashes.
  5. Press button P to select the rinse aid level.
  6. Switch off (ON/OFF).

Setting is complete. If the level is set to ZERO (ECO), no rinse aid is supplied. The factory setting is medium. Adjust based on results: low numbers (1-2) for bluish streaks, high numbers (3-4) for water drops or limescale marks.

Filling the Detergent Dispenser:

Use the opening device (A) to open the detergent dispenser. Add detergent to the dry dispenser (B) only. Place pre-wash detergent directly in the tub.

  1. Refer to quantity information for detergent dosing. The dispenser has markings for guidance.
  2. Remove detergent residues from the dispenser edges and close the cover until it clicks.
  3. Close the lid by pulling it up until the closing device is secured.

The dispenser opens automatically during the program.

The Eco 50° wash cycle complies with standard AS/NZS 2007, using less energy and being more environmentally friendly. Not all options can be used simultaneously. Program duration is an estimate and may vary. Standby consumption: 5 W. Off mode consumption: 0.5 W.

WARNING: Some dishwasher detergents are alkaline and dangerous if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Keep children away when the door is open. Check the detergent receptacle is empty after washing.

Programs Description:

  • ECO: Normally soiled crockery. Most efficient in energy and water consumption.
  • INTENSIVE: For heavily soiled crockery, pans, and saucepans (not for delicate items).
  • EVERYDAY: Ensures optimal cleaning performance in a shorter time.
  • EXPRESS 40': For lightly-soiled dishes with no dried food residues (ideal for 2 place settings).
  • SOAK: For crockery to be washed later. No detergent needed.
  • HALF LOAD: For washing a half load of lightly or normally soiled crockery.

Notes: For best results with the "Express" program, observe specified place settings. Run the dishwasher only when full to further reduce consumption.

Daily Use

  1. Check Water Connection: Ensure the dishwasher is connected to the water supply and the tap is open.
  2. Switch On: Open the door and press the ON/OFF button.
  3. Load the Racks: Refer to the 'Loading the Racks' section.
  4. Filling the Detergent Dispenser: Refer to the 'Programs Table' and 'Filling the Detergent Dispenser' section.
  5. Choose Program and Customize Cycle: Select the appropriate program using button P based on crockery type and soiling level. Select desired options.
  6. Start: Close the door to start the wash cycle. A beep indicates the start.
  7. End of Wash Cycle: The end is indicated by beeps and a flashing program light. Open the door and switch off using the ON/OFF button. Wait a few minutes before unloading, starting with the lower rack.

The machine may switch off automatically during periods of inactivity to save electricity. Reduce detergent if crockery is lightly soiled or pre-rinsed.

Modifying a Running Program:

If a program was selected incorrectly and has just started: open the door (beware of hot steam!), press and hold ON/OFF to switch off. Switch back on and select the new cycle and options, then close the door to start.

Adding Extra Crockery:

Without switching off, open the door (beware of hot steam!), add crockery, and close the door. The cycle will resume from where it was interrupted.

Accidental Interruptions:

If the door is opened or there's a power cut during a cycle, it stops and resumes when the door is closed or power is restored.

Advice and Tips

Tips:

  • Before loading, remove food residues and empty glasses. Pre-rinsing under running water is not necessary.
  • Arrange crockery firmly to prevent tipping. Place containers with openings facing down and concave/convex parts obliquely for optimal water reach.
  • Lids, handles, and trays should not obstruct the spray arms.
  • Place small items in the cutlery basket.
  • Place heavily soiled dishes and pans in the lower basket for stronger water spray.
  • Ensure spray arms can rotate freely after loading.

Hygiene:

To prevent odors and sediment, run a high-temperature program monthly. Use a teaspoon of detergent and run the cycle without loading.

Unsuitable Crockery:

  • Wooden crockery and cutlery.
  • Delicate decorated glasses, artistic handicraft, and antique crockery.
  • Synthetic material parts not resistant to high temperatures.
  • Copper and tin crockery.
  • Crockery soiled with ash, wax, lubricating grease, or ink.

Colors on glass decorations and aluminum/silver pieces may fade. Some glass types (e.g., crystal) may become opaque after several wash cycles.

Damage to Glass and Crockery:

  • Use only dishwasher-safe glasses and porcelain.
  • Use a delicate detergent suitable for crockery.
  • Remove glasses and cutlery as soon as the wash cycle is over.

Loading the Racks

Upper Rack:

Load delicate and light items: glasses, cups, saucers, low salad bowls.

Lower Rack:

For pots, lids, plates, salad bowls, cutlery, etc. Place large plates and lids at the sides to avoid interfering with the spray arm. The lower rack has tip-up supports that can be used vertically for plates or horizontally for pans and salad bowls.

Adjusting the Height of the Upper Rack:

The upper rack height can be adjusted for more space in the lower basket or to avoid collisions. Lift the rack by holding the sides until it is stable in the upper position. To lower it, press the levers (A) on the sides and move the basket down. Do not adjust the height when the rack is loaded, and never adjust it on one side only.

Foldable Flaps with Adjustable Position:

Side foldable flaps can be set at three heights for better crockery arrangement. Wine glasses can be placed securely by inserting the stem into the slots. Incline the flaps for better drying results.

Cutlery Basket:

The basket has top grilles for cutlery arrangement. Position it at the front of the lower rack. Knives and sharp utensils should have points facing downwards or be placed horizontally in the upper rack tip-up compartments.

Care and Maintenance

Cleaning the Filter Assembly:

Regularly clean the filter assembly to prevent clogging and ensure proper water flow. The assembly has three filters.

  1. Turn the cylindrical filter (A) anti-clockwise and pull it out.
  2. Remove the cup filter (B) by pressing the side flaps.
  3. Slide out the stainless-steel plate filter (C).
  4. Inspect the trap and remove food residues. Never remove the wash-cycle pump protection.

After cleaning, re-install the filter assembly correctly for efficient operation.

Cleaning the Spray Arms:

Food residue can block spray arm holes. Periodically check and clean the arms with a small non-metallic brush.

To remove the upper spray arm, turn the plastic locking ring anti-clockwise. Reinstall with the side having more holes facing upwards. The lower spray arm can be removed by pulling it upwards.

Cleaning the Water Inlet Hose:

If hoses are new or unused for a long time, run water through them to ensure they are clear of impurities before connecting. This prevents blockages and damage.
