Introduction
This manual provides instructions for operating your Wildgame Innovations WRAITH scouting camera.
Installation and Setup
Battery Installation
- Open the camera's bottom door by flipping the latch.
- Slide the latch to the right to eject the battery tray.
- Insert batteries as indicated (ensure correct polarity).
Notes: Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix battery types (alkaline, carbon-zinc, rechargeable).
SD Card Installation
- Load an SD memory card (up to 32GB) into the SD card slot with the notch first and metal pins facing you.
Note: A "No SD card" message will appear if the card is missing or corrupted. Ensure the camera is powered off before installing or removing an SD card. If using a card from another camera, format it on your computer first. New cards are ready to use.
Powering On/Off
To Turn ON: Press and release the power button.
To Turn OFF: Wake the LCD screen, then press and hold the power button until the LCD turns off.
Camera Operation
Ready Mode
After 30 seconds of inactivity, the LCD screen turns off, and the camera enters Ready Mode. Press any button to wake the LCD. The LCD will not wake while the camera is writing to memory.
Test Mode
During the first 3 minutes of Ready Mode, a red LED status light illuminates when movement is detected. After 3 minutes, all indicator lights turn off until a button is pressed.
Setting Time & Date
- To set the hour, press and release the ENTER button. Use the +/- navigation buttons to adjust the hour, then press ENTER to confirm.
- To set the minutes, press ENTER after setting the hour. Use +/- to adjust, then press ENTER.
- To set the Day, press ENTER after setting the minutes. Use +/- to adjust, then press ENTER.
- Repeat steps 1-3 to set the Month and Year.
Photo Count
Press the +/- navigation buttons to select "Photos". This displays the number of photos currently on your SD card. This is not a programmable setting.
Still Image / Video Setting
- While "Image" is selected, press ENTER. The current option will blink.
- Use the +/- navigation buttons to move between options (Still/Video).
- Press ENTER to save the selected setting.
Exposure Setting
Exposure Options:
- HI: Night images will be brighter, but moving objects may appear blurrier.
- MED: Night images will have a balance between brightness and motion blur.
- LO: Night images will be darker, but moving objects will be clearer.
- While "Exposure" is selected, press ENTER. The current option will blink.
- Use the +/- navigation buttons to select HI, MED, or LO.
- Press ENTER to save the setting.
Delay Setting
This sets the time interval between photo triggers.
- While "Delay" is selected, press ENTER. The current option will blink.
- Use the +/- navigation buttons to select the desired delay time (e.g., 15s, 30s, 1m).
- Press ENTER to save the setting.
Picture Information Display
The camera display shows:
- A - Model
- B - Time
- C - Date
- D - Moon Phase
- E - Photo Count
Mounting the Camera
To mount the camera to a tree:
- Remove the clip from one end of the strap.
- Slide the strap through the camera's mounting slots.
- Reattach the clip to the strap.
- Wrap the strap around the tree and clip the two ends together.
- Pull the strap tight to secure the camera.
Important Tips for Mounting:
- Recommended distance from target area: 25-30 feet for optimal image quality.
- Avoid mounting the unit facing the rising or setting sun to prevent direct sunlight into the lens.
- If mounting in dusty environments or on a feeder, regularly clean the lens cover, flash cover, and PIR sensor cover.
- Periodically check the mounting to ensure it remains secure.
- Ensure the camera door is securely latched to activate the moisture seal.
- Check batteries frequently to prevent corrosive build-up.
Retrieving Images
Using an SD Card Reader:
- Remove the SD card from the camera by pressing it until it ejects.
- Insert the SD card into your SD card reader. Refer to your card reader's manual for viewing files.
You can also use the WGI SD Card Reader for Apple or Android devices to upload photos to the cloud via the WGI Huntsmart app.
Formatting the SD Card
To format using the camera:
- Press and hold the POWER and ENTER buttons for 5 seconds while turning the camera on.
- The LCD screen will display "FORMAT" while the card is being formatted.
Warning: Formatting the SD card will delete all files on it. SDXC cards are not supported.
To format using a computer:
- Connect the SD card to your computer (using a built-in slot, adapter for MicroSD, or external USB reader).
- Open File Explorer (Windows: Win + E).
- Right-click the drive letter for your memory device and select "Format".
- Ensure "FAT32" is selected under "File System".
- Ensure "Quick Format" is checked.
- Click "Start".
Support and Warranty
Limited Warranty
Your Wildgame Innovations scouting camera is covered by a 365-Day Limited Warranty on parts and labor from the date of original purchase. Purchases must be made through an authorized dealer. The warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials but does not cover damage or abuse. Purchases from unauthorized sources like eBay void the warranty.
To access Factory Reset options, the camera must be registered with Wildgame Innovations (via web, email, or phone) and accompanied by a proof of purchase receipt. Tampering or unauthorized service voids the warranty.
For warranty service, a copy of the original sales receipt and a Return Authorization (RA) number (obtained from customer service at 877-269-8490) are required before returning the product. Wildgame Innovations is not responsible for lost packages without an RA number.
