Battery Installation
1. Open the door at the bottom of the camera by pulling the latch.
2. Drop the battery tray by sliding the orange EJECT latch to the right.
3. Align the batteries with the positive (+) facing up on the outside, and the negative (-) facing up on the inside.
Note: Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc) batteries.
SD Card Installation
4. Load SD memory card (up to 32GB) into the SD card slot with the notch in first and the metal pins facing you.
5. A "No SD card" message will appear after power up if the SD card is missing or corrupted.
Important: Make sure the camera is powered off before removing or installing an SD card. If you are using an SD card from other cameras, please make sure to format the SD card in your computer prior to use in your camera. New cards are ok to use straight from the package.
Time Zone
1. Slide the TIMEZONE switch to set your time zone first.
Time Zone Options:
- P - Pacific region (UTC-8hr)
- M - Mountain region (UTC-7hr)
- C - Central region (UTC-6hr)
- E - Eastern region (UTC-5hr)
Delay
1. Slide the DELAY switch to select your delay setting. Delay is the time for the camera to take the next photo or video after 15 seconds, 30 seconds, or 1 minute.
Power
1. Move the MODE switch to Photo or Video mode to turn the camera on.
2. When the camera is powered on for 3 seconds, the LCD will display the factory default (incorrect) time. After 30 seconds, the LCD will turn off and the camera will immediately begin capturing images.
Note: The camera's test LED will blink on each photo/video trigger for the first 3 minutes of operation. After that time, the test LED will remain off.
Manual Settings - Time
While the camera is switched on, pressing the OK button will light up the LCD.
1. To change the time, press and release the OK navigation button to set the hour.
2. Press the + navigation button to increase the hour.
3. When the hour is set, repeat steps 1 and 2 to set the minutes.
Manual Settings - Date
1. Press the OK navigation button after setting the minute to change the date.
2. Press the + navigation button to increase the month.
3. When the month is set, repeat steps 1 and 2 to set the day and year.
Atomic Clock Sync
This camera can automatically acquire the time and date from the atomic clock radio station WWVB.
To initiate the sync, press and hold the + button for 5 seconds while powering the camera on.
During sync, the test LED will blink yellow and the LCD screen will display "SYNC". When the time is acquired, the test LED will blink green, and the camera will briefly display the acquired time before capturing photos/videos.
If the camera cannot acquire the time after 10 minutes, the LED will blink red, and the LCD will display the last saved time. The camera will attempt to sync every 6 hours but will continue capturing images during this time.
If the time is successfully acquired or manually set, the camera will attempt a sync at 1 AM daily. The test LED will not light up during this sync to avoid alerting animals, but the screen will still display "SYNC".
Image Display Information
Pictures captured by the camera can display the following information:
- A - Time
- B - Date
- C - Moon Phase
- D - Photo Count
Mounting
1. To mount to a tree, remove the clip from one end of the strap. Slide the strap through the slots on the back of the camera. Reattach the clip. Wrap the strap around the tree and clip the two ends together. Pull the excess material to ensure the camera is strapped tightly.
Important Tips:
- Recommended distance from target area is 25-30 feet for optimal imaging quality.
- To improve image quality, avoid mounting the unit facing the rising or setting sun to prevent direct sunlight into the camera lens.
- If mounting in a dusty environment or on a feeder, clean the camera lens cover, incandescent flash cover, and PIR sensor cover regularly.
- Periodically check the mounting to ensure it is not loose.
- Ensure the camera door is securely latched every time to activate the moisture seal.
- Check batteries frequently to prevent corrosive build-up, which may harm the camera.
Retrieving Images (SD Card Reader)
1. Remove the SD Card from the camera by pressing on it until it ejects.
2. Insert the SD card into your SD card reader.
Refer to your card reader's owner's manual for viewing files. You can also use the WGI SD Card Reader for Apple or Android to access and upload photos to the cloud using the WGI Huntsmart app on your mobile device.
Format SD Card
If you are having trouble with your SD card, try formatting it.
To format your SD card using your camera:
Press and hold the OK button for 5 seconds while turning the camera on. The LCD screen will display "DLT" (delete) while formatting.
Warning: Formatting your SD card will delete all files placed on it.
Note: SDXC CARDS ARE NOT SUPPORTED.
To format your SD card using your computer:
- Connect the SD card to your computer. If your computer has an SD card slot, insert it directly. If using a MicroSD card, an adapter is needed. If your computer lacks a built-in SD card port, use an external USB card reader.
- Open File Explorer (Windows) by pressing Win + E.
- Right-click the drive letter associated with your memory device and select "Format".
- Ensure "FAT32" is selected under "File System".
- Ensure "Quick Format" is checked.
- Click "Start".
Limited Warranty
Your Wildgame Innovations scouting camera is covered by a 365 Day Limited Warranty on parts and labor from the date of original purchase, provided purchases are made through an authorized dealer. The warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials but does not apply to units damaged or abused intentionally or unintentionally. Purchases from individuals or unauthorized sites like eBay void the warranty.
To be eligible for Factory Reset options, the camera must be registered with Wildgame Innovations via web, email, or phone support, and accompanied by a proof of purchase receipt.
Tampering with or altering the unit, or unauthorized service, will void the warranty. A copy of the original sales receipt and a Return Authorization (RA) number obtained from customer service (1.888.508.5922) are required for any warranty service.
Wildgame Innovations is not responsible for lost or untraceable packages without an RA number.
