1 Intended Use
The SpeaKa Professional 4K HDMI Audio Extractor with ARC functionality is designed to extract audio from an HDMI signal. It allows you to send the video signal from a source device to a display (e.g., TV) and simultaneously send the audio signal to a sound system. Additionally, it supports the Audio Return Channel (ARC) feature, enabling audio from your Smart TV to be sent to a sound system via the HDMI connection. The device is powered by a 5V/DC USB input and is intended for indoor use only. Avoid contact with moisture and do not use the product outdoors. Improper use may lead to damage or hazards such as short circuits, fires, or electric shocks. The product complies with relevant European requirements. For safety and approval, do not modify or rebuild the product. Read the operating instructions carefully and keep them for future reference. 5.1 General

5.2 Handling

5.3 Operating Environment

5.5 Connected Devices

5.6 Power Adapter
- Do not modify or repair power supply components, including plugs, cables, and adapters. Do not use damaged components. Risk of electric shock!
- Connect the appliance to an easily accessible wall socket.
- Use only the supplied power adapter.
- Connect the power adapter only to a normal mains socket connected to the public supply. Check that the voltage on the power adapter matches your electricity supplier's voltage before plugging it in.
- Never connect or disconnect power adapters with wet hands.
- For safety reasons, disconnect the power adapter from the mains socket during storms.
- Do not touch a damaged power adapter, as this could cause a fatal electric shock. Switch off the mains voltage to the socket, unplug the adapter, and use a new adapter of the same type.

7 Connection
The connection method depends on your sound system. The following video-to-audio options are available:
- Analogue stereo audio via 3.5 mm headphone jack or RCA connection.
- 5.1 Surround sound via optical S/PDIF connection.
- Pass-through audio (max. LPCM7.1) with the HDMI signal passed through 1:1.
- Audio Return Channel (ARC): return the audio signal from the display device connected to the HDMI output to the sound system.
7.1 Setting up Analogue Stereo Audio
- Switch off the devices to be connected.
- Connect the video source to the HDMI input port (HDMI IN).
- Connect the display device to the HDMI output port (HDMI OUT).
- Connect your sound system to the 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack or the analogue RCA audio sockets (L/R).
- Set the EDID switch to position 2.0.
- Push the ARC switch to the left (away from the HDMI input port).
7.2 Setting up 5.1 Surround Sound Audio
- Switch off the devices to be connected.
- Connect the video source to the HDMI input port (HDMI IN).
- Connect the display device to the HDMI output port (HDMI OUT).
- Connect your sound system to the optical audio port (S/PDIF).
- Set the EDID switch to position 5.1.
- Push the ARC switch to the left (away from the HDMI input port).
7.3 Setting up Pass-Through Audio
In pass-through mode, the HDMI signal is passed through 1:1. Connected devices are addressed by the EDID settings of the HDMI device connected to the HDMI output port (e.g., Smart TV). The audio signal can be at most LPCM 7.1.
Notes:
- Whether the S/PDIF optical audio port carries an audio signal depends on your audio system.
- Whether the L/R analogue RCA audio sockets carry an audio signal depends on your audio system.
- The 3.5 mm headphone jack does not carry an audio signal.
To set up the connection:
- Switch off the devices to be connected.
- Connect the video source to the HDMI input port (HDMI IN).
- Connect the display device to the HDMI output port (HDMI OUT).
- Connect your sound system to the S/PDIF optical audio port or the L/R analogue RCA audio sockets.
- Set the EDID switch to position TV.
- Push the ARC switch to the left (away from the HDMI input port).
7.4 Setting up Audio Return Channel (ARC)
The ARC function allows you to return the audio signal from the display device (e.g., Smart TV) to the sound system, eliminating the need for a separate audio connection.
Notes:
- Whether the S/PDIF optical audio port carries an audio signal depends on your audio system.
- Whether the L/R analogue RCA audio sockets carry an audio signal depends on your audio system.
- The 3.5 mm headphone jack does not carry an audio signal.
To set up the connection:
- Switch off the devices to be connected.
- Connect the display device to the HDMI output port (HDMI OUT).
- Connect your sound system to the S/PDIF optical audio port or the L/R analogue RCA audio sockets.
- Set the EDID switch to position TV.
- Push the ARC switch to the right (towards the HDMI input port).
8 Operation
- Switch on the devices connected to the audio extractor.
- Connect the USB cable to the power input socket (DC 5V).
- Connect the USB cable to the power adapter.
- Connect the power adapter to the mains supply.
- The HDMI input indicator will light up, indicating the connected HDMI video source.
- If ARC is enabled, the ARC indicator will light up.
- Start video playback.
9 Cleaning and Care
Important:
- Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol, or other chemical solutions, as they can damage the housing and cause malfunctions.
- Do not immerse the product in water.
- Disconnect the product from the power supply.
- Clean the product with a dry, lint-free cloth.
10 Disposal
This symbol indicates that electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life. Owners of WEEE (Waste from Electrical and Electronic Equipment) must dispose of it separately. End users must remove batteries and lamps from WEEE before handing them over to a collection point.
