Product Description
The MEAN WELL LRS-200 series is a 200W single-output enclosed type power supply featuring a low profile design of 30mm. It accepts an input voltage selectable between 115VAC and 230VAC via a switch. The series offers a range of output voltages including 3.3V, 4.2V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, 36V, and 48V.
With an efficiency of up to 90%, the LRS-200 series utilizes a metallic mesh case for enhanced heat dissipation, allowing operation from -25°C to 70°C under free air convection without a fan. It delivers extremely low no-load power consumption (less than 0.75W), helping end systems meet worldwide energy requirements. The LRS-200 series includes complete protection functions, 5G anti-vibration capability, and complies with international safety regulations such as IEC/UL 62368-1. It is positioned as a high price-to-performance power supply solution for various industrial applications.

Protection
- OVER LOAD: 110~140% rated output power. For 3.3~36V models, Hiccup mode recovers automatically after fault condition is removed. For 48V models, shut down and latch off output voltage, re-power on to recover.

Notes
- All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated load and 25°C of ambient temperature.
- Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12" twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uF & 47uF parallel capacitor.
- Tolerance: includes set up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
- Line regulation is measured from low line to high line at rated load.
- Load regulation is measured from 0% to 100% rated load.
- Length of set up time is measured at cold first start. Turning ON/OFF the power supply very quickly may lead to increase of the set up time.
- The 150% peak load capability is built in for up to 1 second for 12~48V. LRS-200 will enter hiccup mode if the peak load is delivered for over 1 second and will recover once it resumes to the rated current level (115VAC/230VAC).
- The ambient temperature derating of 5°C/1000m is needed for operating altitude greater than 2000m (6500ft).
- This power supply does not meet the harmonic current requirements outlined by BS EN/EN61000-3-2. Please do not use this power supply under the following conditions: a) the end-devices is used within the European Union, and b) the end-devices is connected to public mains supply with 220Vac or greater rated nominal voltage, and c) the power supply is: installed in end-devices with average or continuous input power greater than 75W, or belong to part of a lighting system. Exception: Power supplies used within the following end-devices do not need to fulfill BS EN/EN61000-3-2: a) professional equipment with a total rated input power greater than 1000W; b) symmetrically controlled heating elements with a rated power less than or equal to 200W.

Block Diagram
The block diagram illustrates the internal structure of the LRS-200 power supply. Input power (I/P) first passes through an EMI filter. It then goes to rectifiers, followed by a power switching stage. The switched power is then processed by rectifiers and a filter before reaching the output terminals (+V, -V). A control system, including PWM Control, monitors and manages Overload Protection (O.L.P.), Over Temperature Protection (O.T.P.), and Over Voltage Protection (O.V.P.) via a detection circuit. The input voltage can be selected between 115/230VAC using a switch. The oscillation frequency (fosc) is 65KHz. The Frame Ground (FG) connection is also shown.
Derating Curve
The derating curve shows the relationship between ambient temperature and the maximum load percentage the power supply can handle. The X-axis represents ambient temperature in degrees Celsius (°C), ranging from -25 to 70. The Y-axis represents the load percentage (%). Two curves are shown:
- 3.3V~5V models: Maintain 100% load up to approximately 50°C, then gradually derate to 0% load at 70°C.
- 12V~48V models: Maintain 100% load up to approximately 60°C, then gradually derate to 0% load at 70°C.
Static Characteristics
The static characteristics graph illustrates the load percentage versus input voltage. The X-axis represents the input voltage in VAC at 60Hz, with two distinct ranges shown: 90-132VAC and 180-264VAC. The Y-axis represents the load percentage (%). The graph indicates that the power supply can maintain its rated output across the specified input voltage ranges without significant derating, ensuring stable operation.
Mechanical Specification
The mechanical specification provides the physical dimensions and mounting details for the LRS-200 series power supply. The unit has a length of 215mm, a width of 115mm, and a height of 30mm. Mounting is facilitated by four M4 screws, with a length of 5mm, on both sides of the unit. The drawing also indicates the position of the LED indicator and the voltage adjustment (ADJ.) potentiometer. The terminal pin assignment is detailed as follows:
