Lenovo X3 Smart Lock User Manual

This manual provides instructions for the Lenovo X3 Smart Lock.

1: ADMIN SETTINGS

1.1: ADD ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD

To add an administrator password:

  1. Shortly press the [*] key, then press the [#] key.
  2. After hearing the voice prompt "Add administrator, please input 6~8 digits password", input a 6-8 digit password, and then press the [#] key to confirm.
  3. After hearing the voice prompt "Please input the same password again", enter the same password.
  4. After hearing the voice prompt "Add successfully", the system will automatically jump to the main menu. You can exit or perform other operations according to the voice instruction.

1.2: ENTER THE MAIN MENU

To enter the main menu:

  1. Light up the touch screen and press the [*] key, then press the [#] key. Alternatively, press the SET key on the rear lock panel.
  2. You must enter the administrator information to verify.
  3. After entering the main menu, you will hear the voice prompt "Please press the number key to select the operation". Press the corresponding number key to select the desired operation.

Sub-options within User Management and System Settings:

  • When adding users (Administrative or Common): 1. Please enter the Fingerprint, Password, RFID Card to be added
  • When deleting users:
    • 1. Verify The Deletion Of User
    • 2. Delete User by Number
  • Function Settings include:
    • 1. Door Opening Direction (Left)
    • 2. Auto Lock (Off)
    • 3. Door Lock Setting
    • 4. Alarm for Stay (Off)
  • Advanced Settings include:
    • 1. Delay Locking Time: Options include Off, 10s, 20s, 30s, 60s, 120s.
    • 2. Dual Authentication Setting
  • Alarm Settings include:
    • 1. Anti-pry Alarm (Off)
    • 2. Torque Setting (Medium)
    • 3. Back Lock Time (3s)

[⚠️ CAUTION] During the above operations, you can follow the voice prompts.

2: USER SETTING

This section details how to manage users on the Lenovo X3 Smart Lock.

To access user settings, light up the touch screen and press the [*] key, then press the [#] key to enter the main menu, or press the SET key of the rear lock panel. You will need to enter administrator information to verify. Once in the main menu, press the number key corresponding to the desired operation.

User Setting Options:

  • 1. Add Users (Includes Administrative and Common Users)
  • 2. Delete User
  • 3. System Settings
  • 4. Record/Language/Voice

2.1: ADD FINGERPRINT

To add a fingerprint:

  1. Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor.
  2. When prompted "Please press the finger again", place the same finger on the sensor again.
  3. When prompted "Add successfully, you can add continuously, please press [*] to exit", you can continue to add more fingerprints or press [*] to exit.

[⚠️ CAUTION]

  • To register a fingerprint, you need to record it 4-5 times continuously.
  • When collecting fingerprints, try to capture them from different locations and with varying pressure on the same finger to ensure easier subsequent verification.

2.2: ADD PASSWORD

To add a password:

  1. Enter a 6 to 8-digit password.
  2. Press [#] to confirm.
  3. When prompted "Please enter the same password again", enter the same password.

The system supports a dummy password function, allowing random numbers before and after the correct password for enhanced security.

[⚠️ CAUTION] For verification, the dummy password can include up to 32 digits. Only one set of passwords can be included, and they cannot be repeated.

2.3: ADD RFID CARD

To add an RFID card:

  1. Place the induction card close to the antenna receiving area.
  2. The system will give the voice prompt "add successfully".

2.4: DELETE USER

To delete a user, access the main menu as described in section 1.2.

2.4.1: VERIFY THE USER TO BE DELETED

To delete a user by verification:

  1. Navigate to the "Delete User" option in the main menu.
  2. Select "Verify The Deletion Of User".
  3. When prompted "Please verify the user to be deleted", enter the password, fingerprint, or induction card of the user to be deleted.
  4. If the user exists, the system will prompt "delete successfully". If not, it will prompt "operation failed".
  5. When prompted "You can delete continuously, press the [*] key to exit", you can continue to delete other users. Press [*] to exit the continuous deletion mode.

2.4.2: DELETE USERS BY NUMBER

To delete a user by their number:

  1. Navigate to the "Delete User" option in the main menu.
  2. Select "Delete User by Number".
  3. When prompted "Please enter the user number to be deleted", enter the three-digit user number (e.g., "001").
  4. If the user exists, the system will prompt "Delete successfully". If not, it will prompt "operation failed".
  5. When prompted "can be deleted continuously, exit please press the [*] key", you can continuously enter user numbers to delete users. Press [*] to exit.

[⚠️ CAUTION] The current administrator cannot be deleted. The system guarantees at least one administrator remains to prevent the lock from entering a default state where anyone can open it and management menus are inaccessible.

3: FACTORY DATA RESET

To reset the lock to factory default settings:

  1. Navigate to "System Settings" in the main menu.
  2. Select "Restore Factory Settings".
  3. You will be prompted: "Factory Data Reset No [*] / Yes [#]".
  4. Press [*] to cancel the operation.
  5. Press [#] to restore factory settings.
  6. After pressing [#], the message "Clearing succeeded" will be displayed, and the system will restart.

[⚠️ CAUTION] After factory settings are restored, all user data will be cleared. Exercise caution when performing this operation.

4: NETWORKING SETTINGS

To configure network settings:

  1. Navigate to "System Settings" in the main menu.
  2. Select "Networking Settings".
  3. The message "Networking configuration, please wait" will be displayed.
  4. Connect your mobile phone to WIFI.
  5. Open the "Smart Lenovo" APP.
  6. Click the "+" button in the upper right corner.
  7. Select "security", then select "Lenovo Smart Door Lock X3".
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the lock to your network.

This section also includes an option to "Set Two-factor Authentication".

5: TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION SETTING

To configure two-factor authentication:

  1. Navigate to "System Settings" in the main menu.
  2. Select "Set Two-factor Authentication".
  3. You will have two options:
    • 1. Disable Double Check FFL (This option appears to be related to disabling two-factor authentication)
    • 2. Enable Dual Authentication (This option enables two-factor authentication)
  4. Press 1 to disable two-factor authentication.
  5. Press 2 to enable two-factor authentication.

[⚠️ CAUTION] To enable Two-factor authentication, at least two common users must exist in the system. The system supports two-factor authentication only for common users. Administrative users and temporary users do not need two-factor authentication.

6: METHOD OF USE

6.1: OPERATION IN THE COMMON MODE

These are the standard ways to unlock the door:

6.1.1: PINCODE UNLOCK

Wake up the panel, enter your password, and press the [#] key. After verification, the lock can be opened.

6.1.2: FINGERPRINT UNLOCK

Press your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor area. After verification, the lock can be opened.

6.1.3: RFID TAG UNLOCK

Place your induction card (RFID tag) in the proximity area to unlock after successful verification.

6.2: UNLOCK THE DOOR INTERNALLY

These methods are used from inside the door:

6.2.1: HANDLE UNLOCK

Turn the handle to the left to unlock the door.

6.2.2: BUTTON UNLOCK

Press the unlock button on the interior panel to unlock the door.

6.3: LOCK THE DOOR INTERNALLY

These methods are used to lock the door from the inside:

6.3.1: HANDLE LOCK

Turn the handle to the right to lock the door.

6.3.2: DOUBLE LOCK

Turn the double lock knob. This prevents the door from being unlocked from the outdoor side.

6.3.3: LOCK BUTTON

Press the lock button on the exterior panel to lock the door.

6.3.4: AUTOMATICALLY LOCK

After the door closing sensing tongue is pressed (i.e., the door is fully closed), the main tongue will be automatically released, and the door will be locked automatically.

6.6: EMERGENCY OPENING METHOD

In emergency situations, use these methods:

6.6.1: MECHANICAL KEY

In case of forgetting the password, running out of battery power, or system malfunction, you can use the mechanical key to unlock the door.

  1. Insert the mechanical key into the spare mechanical key port located under the handle.
  2. After turning the key, press down the handle to unlock the lock.

6.6.2: MICRO USB POWER SUPPLY

If the battery is depleted and no mechanical key is available:

  1. Connect an external rechargeable battery or a 5V1A power supply to the Micro USB port for emergency power.
  2. Open the door according to the normal operation steps.
  3. After opening the door with emergency power, please replace the battery in the lock promptly.
