1. Installation Notes
1.1 Environmental Requirements
Operating Temperature: The GH043/GH043E HMI is designed to operate stably in most industrial environments within the temperature range of -13°F to 140°F (-25°C to 60°C).
NEMA Rating: The front panel of the GH043/GH043E HMI complies with NEMA 1 protection regulations.
Do not use in the following locations:
- Direct sunlight
- Locations where ambient temperature and relative humidity exceed specifications
- Locations where rapid temperature changes can cause condensation
- Locations with corrosive or combustible gases
- Locations with high concentrations of dust, dirt, salt, or iron powder
- Locations where splashing of water, oil, or chemicals may occur
- Locations subjected to direct vibration or impact
Take shielding measures in the following locations:
- Locations with static electricity or other forms of noise
- Locations with strong electromagnetic fields
- Locations that may be exposed to radiation
- Locations near power sources
1.2 Power Requirements
- Input Voltage: DC12V to DC28V.
- Maintain a significant distance from frequency converters and switching power supplies. Input and output cables for these devices must be shielded, with the shielding network connected to the system's ground point.
- Ensure the DC power supply is properly isolated from the AC main power supply.
- Avoid sharing power sources between the GH043/GH043E HMI and inductive loads or controller input circuits.
Note: While the product has internal protection against overvoltage, it cannot guarantee that internal electronic components will not be damaged.
2. Product Installation
2.1 Dimensional Drawing
The unit has external dimensions of 154mm width and 80.2mm height. The cutout size required for installation is 146mm width and 81mm height. The depth of the unit is approximately 37.3mm, with a panel thickness accommodation of 5mm.
2.2 Fixed Screw Installation Instructions
Insert the product into the pre-cut mounting hole on the machine's control panel. From the back of the panel, secure the mounting clamps into the designated square holes on the HMI shell. Tighten the screws with a recommended torque of 0.5 N.m to ensure waterproof and dustproof sealing and prevent shell deformation.
2.3 Power Connection
Before connecting the power, verify compliance with all local and national electrical standards. Select power cables with appropriate voltage and current ratings that meet safety regulations.
Loosen the screws on the product's rear terminal block counterclockwise, insert the power cables, and then tighten the screws clockwise. Connect the positive DC power line to the terminal labeled "DC24V", the DC ground to the terminal labeled "GND", and the ground wire to the terminal labeled "FG".
3. External Interfaces
3.1 Ethernet Interface (GH043E Only)
This is a 10M/100M adaptive Ethernet RJ45 port. It is used for uploading/downloading HMI configurations, setting system parameters, and online simulations. It can be used to connect multiple HMIs to form a network, communicate with PLCs via Ethernet, and communicate with PCs.
Connection: Use a Category 5 UTP network cable to connect to devices with network ports.
3.2 USB HOST Interface
This interface allows connection to USB devices or U disks. It can be used to connect USB keyboards, mice, printers, and to upload/download programs and store data using a U disk.
Connection: Connect USB interface devices or U disks.
3.3 USB SLAVE Interface
The interface type is MicroUSB.
Connection: Connect to a PC using a standard USB communication cable.
Port Function: Used for uploading/downloading user configuration programs and setting HMI system parameters.
3.4 COM0/COM2
The COM0/COM2 communication ports are 9-pin D-sub male connectors. COM0 supports RS232/485/422 communication functions, but only one protocol can be supported by the serial port at a time. COM2 only supports RS232 communication.
Pin | Signal | PLC (COM0) [RS-422] | PLC (COM0) [RS-485] | PLC (COM0) [RS-232] | PC/PLC (COM2) [RS-232] |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Rx-(B) | RS422 R- | RS485 B | ||
2 | RxD_PLC | RS232 RxD | |||
3 | TxD_PLC | RS232 TxD | |||
4 | Tx- | RS422 T- | |||
5 | GND | Signal ground | |||
6 | Rx+(A) | RS422 R+ | RS485 A | ||
7 | RxD_PC | RS232 RxD | |||
8 | TxD_PC | RS232 TxD | |||
9 | Tx+ | RS422 T+ |
3.5 SD Card Interface
This is a standard SD card interface (24mm x 32mm x 2.1mm).
Port Function: Insert an SD card through this interface for data storage and program upload/download.
