1. Installation Note
1.1 Environmental Requirement
Operating Temperature: GL043/GL043E HMI is designed to operate stably in most industrial environments between 32°F to 122°F (0~50°C).
NEMA Rating: The front panel of the GL043/GL043E HMI complies with NEMA 1 rating.
Please do not use in the following places:
- Places with direct sunlight.
- Places where surrounding temperature and humidity exceed specifications.
- Places with sharp temperature changes that easily cause condensation.
- Places with corrosive or combustible gases.
- Places with significant dust, dirt, salt, or iron powder.
- Places where the unit may be splashed with water, oil, or drugs.
- Places subject to direct vibration and shock.
- Places exposed to radiation.
- Places near power sources.
Please take shielding measures in the following places:
- Places with electrostatic noise or other forms of noise.
- Places with strong electromagnetic fields.
1.2 Power Requirement
Input Voltage: DC10V to DC28V.
Important Notes:
- Maintain sufficient distance from converters or switch-mode power supplies. Ensure their input and output cables are shielded, and connect the shielding to the system's star ground point.
- Ensure the DC power supply is correctly isolated from the AC main power.
- Do not share the power supply with inductive loads or the input circuits of controllers.
Note: An internal fuse provides protection against overvoltage conditions, but it does not guarantee that internal electronic components will not be damaged.
2. Installation Description
2.1 Dimensional Drawing
The diagram displays the external dimensions of the HMI unit. The overall width is 117.5mm, and the height is 132mm. The recommended panel cutout dimensions are 102mm wide by 91.5mm high. The unit has a depth of 5.7mm, including the seal ring.
[Diagram: Shows external dimensions and panel cutout specifications.]
2.2 Fixed Screw Installation Instructions
Insert the HMI unit into the pre-cut panel opening. From the back of the panel, attach the mounting clamps into the designated slots on the HMI casing. Tighten the screws to secure the unit. Recommended torque is 0.5 N.m to ensure a waterproof and dustproof seal and prevent casing deformation.
[Diagram: Illustrates the HMI being placed into a panel cutout, with mounting clamps being attached from the rear and screws being tightened.]
2.3 Power Connection
Before connecting power, ensure compliance with all local and national electrical standards. Select power cables rated for the required voltage and current. Locate the power terminal block on the back of the unit. Loosen the screws counterclockwise, insert the power cables, and tighten the screws clockwise. Connect the positive DC line to the 'DC24V' terminal, the DC ground to the 'GND' terminal, and the ground wire to the 'FG' terminal.

3. External Interface
3.1 USB SLAVE
Interface Type: MicroUSB.
Connection: Connects to a PC using a standard USB communication cable.
Port Function: Used for uploading/downloading user configuration programs and setting HMI system parameters.
3.2 Ethernet (Only GL043E support)
Interface: 10M/100M adaptive Ethernet RJ45 port.
Connection: Connects to Ethernet devices using a CAT5 UTP network cable.
Port Function: Used for uploading/downloading HMI configuration, setting system parameters, and online simulations. Enables connecting multiple HMIs to form a network, communication with PLCs via Ethernet, and communication with PCs via the Ethernet port.
3.3 COM0/COM2
Interface: COM0/COM2 communication ports use a 9-pin D-SUB male connector.
Note: COM0 supports RS232/485/422 communication functions; only one protocol can be supported at a time. COM2 supports RS232 communication function only.
