Installation Details
The following diagrams illustrate key installation points and settings:
Diagram 1: Temperature and Brazing
Shows a system with a thermostatic expansion valve. Indicates a bulb temperature of 100°C (212°F) with 15% Ag brazing, and a pipe temperature of 120°C (250°F) with 700°C (1300°F) brazing.
Diagram 2: Torque Specifications
Illustrates connection points with torque values:
- 60 ± 5 Nm / 44 ± 3.7 ft lbs
- 40 ± 5 Nm / 29.5 ± 3.7 ft lbs
Diagram 3: Valve Assembly and Adjustment
Shows the assembly of the valve and provides adjustment instructions:
- Use Torx T25 driver.
- Max torque: 4 Nm (3 ft-lbs).
- Adjustment involves turning the spindle.
Diagram 4: Superheat Adjustment
Details how to adjust superheat (SH = t1 - ts):
- For N,B, NMOP, NM, NL types: Superheat is 4°C (7°F).
- For B,B MOP types: Superheat is 8°C (14°F).
- Adjustment is made by turning the spindle approximately 2-3 turns for N,B types and 1.5-2 turns for NMOP, BMOP, NM, NL types, with a 360° rotation indicated.
Diagram 5: System Pressure and Flow
Illustrates system pressure (Ps ~ ts) and flow direction. Shows MOP (Maximum Operating Pressure) where t2 > t1.
Diagram 6: Valve Identification and Flow Path
Shows different valve types (TE 2) and indicates the correct flow path (OK) through the evaporator OD (Outer Diameter) and L (Length).
Diagram 7: Temperature Ranges
Provides temperature ranges for different valve designations:
- N: -40 - -10 °C / -40 – 60 °F
- NM: -40 - -5 °C / -40 – 25 °F
- NL: -40 - -15 °C / -40 – 5 °F
- B: -60 - -25 °C / -75 – 15 °F
