Electrical Supply
- Power Supply: 115V/60Hz
- Outlet Requirement: 3-Prong, GFCI
- Circuit protector: 15 Amp
WARNING: Using a 220V outlet may cause serious injury from electric shock.
To reduce risk of injury:
- Always disconnect the machine from electrical power before servicing.
- Only plug the unit into a grounded electrical circuit.
- Do not use an extension cord.
- Do not use a plug adapter.
How the Dehumidifier Works
The dehumidifier uses its integral humidistat to monitor the conditioned space. When conditions exceed the setpoint, the compressor energizes, and air is drawn across an evaporator coil. The coil cools the air below its dew point, causing water vapor to condense into liquid. The air is then reheated through the condenser coil and returned to the room.
Guidelines
Operation Notes
- Always ensure the unit is operated, transported, and stored on a stable surface.
- For maximum efficiency, operate the unit with all windows and doors closed.
- Do not place the unit where it may block airflow to the inlet or outlet.
Drain Hose Notes
- The dehumidifier has an external drain line connection for easy setup.
- The drain line can be directed outside or into a sink or drain.
- For optimal draining, uncoil the entire hose before use.
- Never position the end of the hose higher than 15 feet.
- Ensure the drain hose is not blocked before use.
Transportation Notes
- Always secure the dehumidifier during transportation.
- If the unit is transported vertically, return it to a horizontal position and let it sit for 30 minutes before use.
Maintenance Instructions
Before Use
- Check the power cord for damage (e.g., fraying). Replace if damaged.
- Check the filter for dirt or obstructions. Clean or replace as needed.
- Check the coils for buildup. Clean if necessary.
Cleaning the Machine Body
Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior. Do not use soap or solvents.
Filter Maintenance
- Unplug the unit.
- Slide out the filter.
- Check the filter for dirt and buildup.
- For Pre-Filter or MERV-8: Clean the filter mesh by vacuuming or washing with warm water (no soap or cleaners). Shake dry and reinsert.
- For Carbon or HEPA Filter: Replace if dirty or has buildup.
Removing the Housing
- Remove housing screws.
