SJE Rhombus Installer Friendly Series® (IFS) Single Phase Simplex Capacitor (Start/Run)

Product Overview

The IFS simplex capacitor (start/run) control panel from SJE Rhombus is designed for controlling a single 120/208/240V single-phase pump in water and sewage applications. It features an innovative circuit board with an easy-to-use touch pad on the inner door for programming and system monitoring. The panel configuration can be easily converted in the field between timed dose and demand dose modes. It is also available with the EZconnex® float system and can utilize the C-Level™ sensor for continuous level monitoring.

The C-Level™ sensor senses the water level in the tank and sends a signal to the panel, allowing pump activation levels to be adjusted via the panel's touch pad. The C-Level™ CL40 sensor has an operating range of 3-39.9 inches (7.6-101.3 cm), while the C-Level™ CL100 sensor has an operating range of 3-99.5 inches (7.6-252.7 cm).

Note: SJE Rhombus warrants motor start kit components supplied by SJE Rhombus for one year. SJE Rhombus does not provide warranties for motor start kits supplied by the customer.

Touch Pad Features

• Level Status Indicators: Illuminate when floats or set points are activated. An alarm will activate if a float operates out of sequence.
• HOA (Hand-Off-Automatic) Buttons: Control pump mode with indication. In Hand mode, the system defaults to Automatic when the stop level or redundant off level is reached.
• Pump Run Indicator: Illuminates when the pump is called to run.
• LED Display: Provides system information including level in inches or centimeters (C-Level™ only), operating mode, pumps elapsed time (hh:mm), events (cycles), alarm counter, float error count, timed dose override counter (timed dose only), and ON/OFF times (timed dose only).
• NEXT Push Button: Toggles the display.
• UP and SET Push Buttons: Set pump ON/OFF times (timed dose only) and activation levels (C-Level™ only).

Components

1. Enclosure: NEMA 4X rated, constructed from ultraviolet-stabilized thermoplastic with removable mounting feet for indoor or outdoor use. Dimensions are 16 x 14 x 6 inches (40.64 x 35.56 x 15.24 cm).
2. Red LED Beacon: Provides a 360° visual indication of an alarm condition.
3. Exterior Alarm Test/Normal/Silence Switch: Allows the horn and light to be tested and the horn to be silenced during an alarm condition. The alarm automatically resets once the condition is cleared.
4. Alarm Horn: Provides an audible warning for alarm conditions, rated between 83 to 85 decibels.
5. Overload Relay (Optional): Provides pump overload protection (not shown).
6. IEC Motor Contactor: Controls the pump by switching electrical lines.
7. Circuit Breaker (Optional): Provides pump disconnect and branch circuit protection.
8. Float and Control/Alarm Incoming Terminal Block.
9. Control Power Indicator/Fuse Indicator Light: Illuminates if control power is present; activates an alarm if the control fuse is blown.
10. Alarm Power Indicator/Fuse Indicator Light: Illuminates if alarm power is present.
11. Large Pump Connection Power Terminal Block.
12. Terminal Block Float and Control/Alarm Incoming Power Wiring Label.
13. Ground Lugs.

Note: Options, voltage, and amp range selected may affect enclosure size and component layout. The Schematic/Wiring Diagram and Pump Specification Label are located inside the panel.

Model Configuration and Options

The IFS panel can be configured with various options to suit specific application needs. Key configuration parameters include:

• Control Panel Model Type: IFS Single Phase Simplex Capacitor (includes Option 8AC as standard).
• Alarm Package: Includes test/normal/silence switch, fuse, red light, and horn.
• Enclosure Rating: Weatherproof, NEMA 4X (engineered thermoplastic).
• Starting Device: 120/208/240V IEC Motor Contactor.
• Pump Full Load Amps: Available ranges from 0-7 FLA up to 30-40 FLA.
• Pump Disconnects: Options for No Pump Disconnect or Circuit Breaker.
• Float Switch Application: Options include Floats - Pump Down, Floats - Pump Up, EZconnex® Float Switch System, or No Floats WITH Alarm Package.

A wide array of additional options are available, including various float switches (Mercury, Mechanical, C-Level™ sensors, EZconnex®), alarm flashers, manual alarm resets, redundant off controls, thermal cutouts, seal failure indicators, auxiliary alarm contacts, display boards, pump overload specifications, lockable latches, lightning arrestors, anti-condensation heaters, and remote alarm panels. Customer-supplied motor start components can also be mounted by SJE Rhombus.

Note: For pump down applications, it is recommended to use a secondary device, such as a float switch, for redundant activation of the high-level alarm and pump shut-off when using the C-Level™ sensor.
