Product Overview
The IFS simplex control panel from SJE Rhombus is designed for efficient pump control and system monitoring in water and sewage applications. It manages a single 208/240/480 VAC three-phase pump. The panel features an intuitive touch pad interface on the inner door for easy programming and monitoring, allowing for field conversion between timed dose and demand dose modes. It is also compatible with the EZconnex® float system and the C-Level™ sensor for continuous level monitoring.
The C-Level™ sensor provides continuous level data to the panel, enabling pump activation levels to be adjusted via the touch pad. The C-Level™ CL40 sensor operates within a range of 3-39.9 inches (7.6-101.3 cm), while the C-Level™ CL100 sensor operates from 3-99.5 inches (7.6-252.7 cm).
Touch Pad Features
- A. Level Status Indicators: Illuminate to show activated floats or set points. An alarm is triggered if a float operates out of sequence.
- B. HOA (Hand-Off-Automatic) Buttons: Control the pump's operating mode with clear indication. In Hand mode, the system defaults to Automatic operation once the stop level or redundant off level is reached.
- C. Pump Run Indicator: Illuminates when the pump is activated.
- D. LED Display: Provides comprehensive system information, including: level in inches or centimeters (for C-Level™ sensor), operating mode, pump elapsed time (hh:mm), event/cycle counts, alarm counter, float error count, timed dose override counter (for timed dose only), and ON/OFF times (for timed dose only).
- E. NEXT Push Button: Used to cycle through the information displayed on the LED screen.
- F. UP and SET Push Buttons: Allow users to set pump ON/OFF times (for timed dose) and activation levels (for C-Level™ sensor).
Key Components
The IFS panel houses several key components for robust operation:
- 1. Enclosure Base: A NEMA 4X rated enclosure made of ultraviolet-stabilized thermoplastic, measuring 14 x 12 x 6 inches (35.56 x 30.48 x 15.24 cm), with removable mounting feet for versatile installation.
- 2. Red LED Beacon: Offers a 360° visual alert for alarm conditions.
- 3. Exterior Alarm Switch: A Test/Normal/Silence switch allows for testing the horn and light, and silencing the horn during an alarm. The alarm automatically resets when the condition is cleared.
- 4. Motor Protective Switch: Provides adjustable overload protection, branch circuit protection, and acts as a pump disconnect.
- 5. IEC Motor Contactor: Manages pump operation by switching electrical lines.
- 6. Multi-tap Transformer: Converts primary voltages (208/240/480 VAC) to 120 VAC for control and alarm functions.
- 7. Float Connection Terminal Block: For connecting float switches.
- 8. Control Power Indicator/Fuse Light: Confirms control power presence; an alarm sounds if the control fuse is blown.
- 9. Alarm Power Indicator/Fuse Light: Confirms alarm power presence.
- 10. Incoming Power Connection Terminal Block: For main power input.
- 11. Terminal Block Float Wiring Label: Guides float wiring connections.
- 12. Ground Lugs: For proper grounding.
- 13. Alarm Horn: Emits an audible alarm (83-85 decibel rating) for critical events (not visually depicted).

Note: Pump down applications only. Industry practices suggest that a secondary device, such as a float switch, be used for redundant activation of the high level alarm and pump shut off when using the C-Level™ sensor.
