User Manual
Product Overview
The JL Audio MBT-RXv2 is a weatherproof receiver featuring Bluetooth® Wireless Technology. It is designed to provide high-quality audio streaming in various environments.
The unit is rated IPX7 for water resistance.
Installation Considerations
Proper installation requires appropriate tools and safety equipment. Professional installation is recommended.
Key Installation Points:
- This product is water-resistant. Do not submerge or subject it to high-pressure water spray.
- Do not mount in areas of extreme heat.
- Mount the product securely to prevent damage or injury in severe conditions.
- Before cutting or drilling, check for potential obstacles behind mounting surfaces.
- Carefully route all system wiring away from moving parts and sharp edges. Secure all wiring and use grommets and loom where appropriate to protect from sharp edges.
Wiring Diagram Description: The MBT-RXv2 unit features connections for power, audio output, and remote turn-on. It includes a +12V Switched input (typically red wire, fused at 2A), a Ground connection (typically black wire), Left Audio Output (typically black wire), Right Audio Output (typically red wire), and a Remote Out connection (typically blue wire). These outputs connect to amplifier(s).
Pairing Considerations
Multiple devices can be paired to the MBT-RXv2, but only one streaming device can connect at a time. The MBT-RXv2 remembers the last connected device and automatically reconnects to it. If the last connected device is not active, other paired devices can connect manually, or new devices can be paired.
If a connected streaming device goes out of range for more than one minute, the MBT-RXv2 will automatically disconnect and return to pairing mode (indicated by a flashing internal LED). When the device returns to range, it must be reconnected manually.
Pairing Your Device:
- Ensure the Bluetooth® feature is enabled on your streaming device and the MBT-RXv2 is powered on. The internal LED will flash to indicate pairing mode is active.
- Select "JLA MBT-RX" from your device's Bluetooth® setup menu.
- Upon successful pairing, the internal LED will illuminate solid.
- Once connected, all playback controls are managed via the connected streaming device.
