Functions
Operation
Oil is drawn from the suction port (S) through the filter (H) to the gear set, where the pressure is increased. The diaphragm (D) in the pressure regulator for stage 1 (T1) maintains the pressure at a constant value set by the adjustment screw (P1). When voltage is applied to the NC valve, it opens, allowing oil to reach the nozzle outlet (E).
When voltage is applied to the NO valve, it closes, and the pressure regulator (T1) is taken out of operation. The pressure then rises to the value for stage 2, set by the adjustment screw (P2).
In a 2-strand system, excess oil is returned to the return port (R) and back to the tank. In a 1-strand system with a closed return port (R) and the screw (A) removed, the oil is internally recirculated to the gear set (see diagram).
Diagram Description: The schematic shows the oil flow path. Key components include: S (Suction Port), H (Filter), D (Diaphragm), T1/P1 (Stage 1 Pressure Regulator/Setting), NC/NO (Solenoid Valves), E (Nozzle Outlet), T2/P2 (Stage 2 Pressure Regulator/Setting), R (Return Port), A (Screw for recirculation), O (Orifice for venting), P (Manometer Port), V (Vacuummeter Port). The diagram illustrates how oil flows from suction, through the filter and pump, to pressure regulation and then either to the nozzle or back to return/recirculation depending on the system configuration and valve states.
Color Coding: Red = Pressure side, Green = Suction side, Yellow = Return side.
Shutdown Function, Solenoid Valve
When the burner stops, the voltage to the solenoid valves is removed. The NO valve opens, and the NC valve closes, immediately cutting off the oil flow to the nozzle.
Venting
In a 2-strand system, the pump is self-priming; venting occurs via the orifice (O) to the return port (R). In a 1-strand system with a closed return port (R), venting occurs via the nozzle outlet (E) or the manometer port (P).
Note! ? The NC solenoid valve must be replaced after 250,000 switching cycles or after 10 years (verified lifespan).
