Technical Data and Specifications
The RSA oil pump is specified for operation with standard fuel oils and bio oils (FAME). Key technical data includes:
- Oil Types: Standard fuel gas oil and bio oil (FAME)
- Viscosity Range: 1.3 - 1.8 mm²/s (cSt)
- Speed: RSA 28: 2400 - 3600 min⁻¹; RSA 40/60/95/125: 1400 - 3600 min⁻¹
- Pressure Range: Varies by model and viscosity, typically 5.5 - 12 bar (RSA 28), 5.5 - 15 bar (RSA 40/60/95/125), and 5.5 - 21 bar (RSA 40/60/95/125 with viscosity > 1.8 mm²/s).
- Default Settings: RSA 28: 7 bar; RSA 40/60/95/125: 10 bar
- Medium Temperature: -10 to +70 °C
- Max. Feed and Return Pressure: 4 bar
Connections (Fig. 1)
- P = Nozzle connection: G ¹⁄₁₆ for RSA 28/40/60/95, G ¹⁄₁₄ for RSA 125.
- S = Suction line: G ¹⁄₁₄
- F = Feed pressure measurement: G ¹⁄₁₄
- R = Return line: G ¹⁄₁₄
- M = Pressure measurement/bleed: G ¹⁄₁₈
All connection surfaces are prepared for standard flat gaskets.
Installation and Operation Notes
- Note on 2-pipe systems: Starting a 2-pipe pump with a blocked return line can cause severe pressure increases, potentially damaging the pump and motor.
- Note on 1-pipe systems with low tank: For 1-pipe operation with an underlying tank, connect the nozzle line to the vent port "M" and blank off the nozzle port "P". A shut-off valve is required in the nozzle line.
- Direction of Rotation: Indicated by the shaft end; clockwise for right-hand, counter-clockwise for left-hand.
- Venting: For 1-pipe systems, vent via port "M" on first start. For 2-pipe systems, the pump vents automatically through the return line.
- Pressure Setting: Max pressure depends on pump type, viscosity, and pressure range.
- First-time Starting: The RSA oil pump should not run dry for more than 5 minutes. Ensure the pump is primed with oil from the factory or previous operation.
- Installation: A prefilter must be installed according to current regulations and practices.
- Suction Line Lengths: 'H' represents total pressure or suction height in meters, and 'L' represents total suction line length in meters.
- Media: The pump is specified for mineral-based fuel oils or media with equivalent or higher classification.
- Accessories: An optional flange (part no. 070-0211) is available. Pressure setting springs for different ranges (1-5 bar, part no. 070-0030; 15-30 bar, part no. 070-0031) are also available for converting the RSA pump for feed/transport duties.
